As with everything else our first year here, Christmas has been a time of learning. Old traditions have been challenged and new ones given the test.
Our Christmas tree is adorned, in the front yard. No tree inside this year nor stockings hung, anywhere. It's another year in transition. Noticeable this year is Callista's maturity. Her path has started from innocence to young adulthood. The way she looks at Christmas this year is not the same. Gone are the days of Santa Claus and my baby.
We are not harassed by Salvation Army bell ringers, to our best recollection we heard only 5 Christmas songs this month. No Christmas cookies for friends and neighbors. Only one Santa sighting. We didn't hit the mall once for shopping. The lack of Xmas commercialism in our lives this year is remarkable.
This will go down in the books as a December to remember.
FELIZ NAVIDAD!
Jen, Bill, Callista and Bear (who is anxiously awaiting the opening of gifts)
Nativity ScenesNotice Baby Jesus isn't there? He'll arrive on the 24th at mid-night.
WildlifeAs I type, the bunny is dancing around the Christmas tree.

No white Christmas here in MD either. Your not missing anything at all.
Love to all,
Cyn
I think that sounds like one of the calmest and most appreciative Christmas' ever. I can't wait to challenge new traditions with my family and another moving to Honduras soon. Wish us luck with all of the beautiful changes ahead. Your family has been inspirational for me to believe we too can do it. Thanks kindly. CarolLynn and Sam
We are so blessed in our lives here. Yes, there are bad days but people have those everywhere. Stay true to your beliefs and you'll be able to make it thru anything. I hope you start a blog about your adventure if you haven't already. It's great therapy! When bad days come along reading past comments can do wonders to heal your soul and lift spirits. Thank you for taking time to write us, we appreciate it!!!
