Yes, that says throw your used toilet paper in the trash can, and no, it's not a typo.
Today was a reasonably short day. After waking up, we started to work on a plan for the rest of the trip. After doing some research, we decided that we'd jeep bus jeep to Monteverde, then take the bus from Monteverde to Quepos (which is close to Manuel Antonio), then, the morning of our outbound flight, hop a Sansa regional jet to San Jose. After we worked out all of our plans, Shavonn started feeling a little rough, so we relaxed in the room until it passed. We think it was just from the heat.

With Shavonn feeling better, we took off for the mountains.

First of all, given that the previous day we were swimming and didn't want to get the camera wet, we drove by Tabacon and took some photos. Then, we headed up the mountain to Sky Tram / Trek.

Sky Tram was basically a fancy gondola that went up the side of the mountain and provided some wonderful views of Lake Arenal and Volcan Arenal. On the way up it started raining, which inspired some howler monkeys to start howling - which was really more of a grunt.

up for the Sky Trek. Sky Trek is, in short, the longest, fasted, and highest series of ziplines that Shavonn or I have ever been on. It's hard to do it justice until you're flying through the air, hundreds of feet above the canopy, at around 40mph. Absolute insanity and absolute fun... Until someone gets stuck in the middle. :) Sorry Shavonn. Of interest, the longest zipline was approximately 1/2 mile.

Afterwords, we went back into town and relaxed for a bit. Tomorrow we have a busy day as we need to drop off the car and hop on the jeep bus jeep to Monteverde.

In my 31 years, I've managed to make it to Europe, all over the US, Canada, and the Caribbean. Next stop is Central America (Costa Rica). In fact, that's why I've started this blog. I want to begin to chronicle my travels. Maybe writing about them will inspire me to get out and travel more often.... full info

Costa Rica is a Central American success story: since the late 19th century, only two brief periods of violence have marred its democratic development. Although still a largely agricultural country, it has expanded its economy to include strong techn...more info

This waterfall was great. You could go sit behind it and let the water crash on your legs. It was around 150 degrees.

This was my favorite. Probably close to 160 degrees. Shavonn and I sat on those rocks by the waterfall.

This is one of the views from the Tram and the ziplining. It might be hard to see the lake as it was raining.
