Arriving in Cayman
Arriving in Cayman

Every week I always offer a teen tour as part of my program. A chance for the teens to do an excursion in one of the ports with other friends from the ship, supervised by me and no parents. I’ve run plenty in the past, but I just haven’t had teens sign up for any tours here on the Liberty. Until this week. It worked out quite well actually, seeing as my replacement (Vanessa) is here; she’s a new director, being trained by me and so we got to actually do a tour instead of just talking about it. We’re in [View Full Entry]

Getting Close
Stingray
Vanessa & Dani's New Friend

I haven’t been diving since I finished my scuba certification in St. Thomas back in February. Seeing as I’ll be going home soon, I decided I needed to get out diving while I have the opportunity to. Getting myself out of bed this morning to go diving took a LOT of effort. I'm having such disrupted and anxious sleeps lately, plus I was up late, having a much-needed phone call with Laura. Plus I had to get up so early for the tour. I was really really dragging this morning. So tired. And really really nervous. Just because I hadn’t been [View Full Entry]

Today Mom, Lee & I were adventuring in Grand Cayman. We went snorkeling at Stingray City, then to Rum Point Beach. What a chaotic yet wonderful day. Normally tours run very smoothly. Unfortunately, today’s did not. First the buses were late picking us up. Half an hour we were left standing on the hot pavement waiting. Guests were already irritated. Later, there were problems with the boat; our driver hit the dock, then rocks. The coast guard came up beside us and boarded the boat. We were late returning to the island and therefore late back to the ship. The ship’s [View Full Entry]

March 8, 2008 Grand Old House, Georgetown Grand Cayman. After many months of planning and preparing we had the most beautiful wedding I could have ever dreamed of. Our closest friends and family were able to be there with us making it perfect. My day started out in a room at the Westin sleeping next to Kel, Liz and Sara. Larry had stayed out for his bachelor party the night before and was of course sleeping alone at a different hotel. My first stop of the morning was to Mom and Dad's villa at The Villas of the Galleon. Kristi, Jake, [View Full Entry]

Primping before the big reveal!

Landed a few days ago in a tropical storm, we could see the clouds from the plane, it was all going well until I looked out of the window and saw lightening around us so that sent the nerves going a bit. We landed in really heavy rain, after a wet English summer I just wanted some sun. Well a few days on and now we have it. Its so beautiful out here, reminds a bit of Hawaii but not as progressive. Its a little wierd to be driving on the same side of the road as the UK but the [View Full Entry]

Cayman Islands Lolol I guess this is how we had to end the trip, a little hard wind and rain to get the blood pumping. The tickets we got for the trip have changeable dates and locations (somewhat) so the Cayman Islands werent even on our original itinerary..... but as the trip started to draw to an end, we cut a day here or there in Europe to save money and added the Cayman Islands to round the trip out... nothing like a little sun and relaxation to bring us home relaxed and refreshed. As we looked at adding the Caribbean [View Full Entry]

Another shot from the snorkel trip....

We didn’t tell the kids what tours we had booked for them so they were excited to find out today we were doing the Pirates of the Caribbean Tour on a real pirate ship. After getting the tender to the island we were taken on board an authentic pirate ship for a themed experience. Straight away the kids were singled out to fire the cannon, swab the decks much to the parents delight. Many photos were taken of kids scrubbing the deck whilst the pirates poured barrels of salt water over them if they weren’t scrubbing hard enough. After this everyone [View Full Entry]
