Hi everyone!

I write this from Newark airport where I am currently sitting for 14 hours as I wait for my flight back to the UK. I'm so bored, yet I really can't be bothered to write all that much!

I've just got back to the US after 9 days of glorious sunshine and beaches of the Bahamas. What can I say? It's a beautiful country and the sea is so clear and warm! It felt a bit more homely too, with cars on the RIGHT side of the road (i.e the left!) It was a really interesting place and we spent the majority of our time on the beach in Paradise Island. The sandy beaches and warm ocean meant that we pretty much didn't want to do anything else than just lie at the beach. It was damn hot too, in the 30s everyday and 36 on a couple of days.

We stayed in a hotel in downtown Nassau, a couple of miles from the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island, where we would go to the beach. The natives are very friendly, if a bit on the fat side; must be the Americans' influence!! The hotel also had a very talkative parrot named Max, which was pretty funny!

We went on a "booze cruise" on one of the days which was really fun. It involved snorkling, a beach on another island, and unlimited alcoholic drinks. Needless to say I overdid it, in fact I was in bed by 6.30pm!

We also went to a zoo on the island which was pretty cool, with lots of really wierd and interesting animals.

I heard that Bahamians are laid back; I'd say that that is an understatement!! I'll give you an example. I went into Burger King, there was just one person in the line in front of me and it took 20, yes 20, minutes for them to take and make my order. Crazy!

So overall, a really fun and interesting trip to end what has been a crazy 9 months for me. I've been so lucky; I've seen so many amazing places, met lots of amazing people, and have loads of great memories which I will keep forever.

Dom
