There were many images out the the 45 Most Powerful Images of 2011, but the 5 I chose was Picture 16,21, 30, 31, and 44.

1) Image 16 "A university of California Davis police officer pepper sparys students during their sit-ins at an occupy UCD demonstrator in Davis, California". The signaficance of image just shows how some people are treated for standing up for their rights. My reaction to the image was disgusted with the police that they would pepper spray students while durning a non violent protest. The protest didnt hurt anyone physically, so the students shouldnt have been hurt phyiscally. Image 21 "A boy looks at a figure of Steve Jobs next to flowers laid in his tribute at an Apple store in Hong Kong". This image signifance is to show how Steve Jobs affected every generation. His Apple productions are the most usual production created. My reaction to this was a sad reaction that he is dead, but aknowleding all of the wonderful products I can use for educational purposes because of this creative male. Image 30 "A seventh month old child is held by his mother in a field hospital of The International Rescue Committee in the town of Kenya, the baby since made a full recovery". The signaficance of image is to show some of the effects of the babies in Kenya. In kenya babies are not usual healthy because of the economic situation and health conditions their. My reaction to this image was devastating when first seeing this image of this very ill baby but relieved that the baby has made a full recovery now. This image should give all families with sick babies hope. Image 44 "A distressed bride attempts sucide in China after her fiance abruptly called off their marriage still in her wedding gown, tried killing herself by jumping from the 7th floor building, right at jump a man manage to catch and save her. The signaficance of this image is to show how some women are emotionally attacted to men. My reaction to this image made the statement "She must have really loved him" come out of my mouth. This also made me react angerily because it seems as though the women depended upon a male too much, by putting her life at risk because of him. Im relieved that she was saved though. Lastly Image 31 "A woman jumps from a building during the london Riot". The signaficance of this image was to give a image explaining the seriousness of the London Riot. This made me react in a nervous way because it never stated if she was saved, and now I want to learn more about the London Riot.

2.) A image that would best explain my year personally for 2011 would be pictures of my acceptance letters Ive recieved so far. This image significance is to show how my hard work is slowly paying off. Also, this shows that im closer to going to college, which is what im most excited for.

3.) Images can be valuable resources for historians who are trying to understand the past because a picture tell a thousand words. Looking at images can show peoples emotions, the background of the images can show the settings. Alot of inferences can be drawn from pictures
