lucky you hey, you are lucky because of being inji (and your white skin)...haha.
anyway, just to tell you that "everything that irritates us about others can lead us to a better understanding of ourselves."
Wow Your writing is really flowing. It's so interesting! I'm glad you're my friend so I can say you're mine. I love you Yonkster and don't you forget that. Even if you are spending time with needy refugee children rather than me (yeah...can't really complain about that one can I?) Love you. You're the best and one day you'll be a famous writer bringing hidden injustices into view.
hey sup? hey, that's one hella reportage of the world refugee day from Bangla. such a great or more important happy event truly deserves a good report like yours. thumps up, Iona. keep writing and keep up the good work you are doing for these refugees.
i also enjoyed the photos.
Late yes, fussy no! I'm not a fussy eater! - Not eating fish isnt fussy - it's sensible! Why would anyone want to eat something that tastes that bad and also contains the danger of death-by-choking in every 'special' mouthful? honestly! Here though the fish is swamped in strong and scrumtpious curry sauce and is so darn fresh its practically still moving, plus I'm always so hungry after a morning in the camps that i imagine i'd eat most things if given them at lunchtime. i admit to being a late person..but not here. I was up at 6am and in the office at 7:30 after a leasiurely breakfast with Carine. ah! x
Fishy girl Ok so I found your blog again. My brain is totally fried but not as fried as that fishy looks! Are you actually eating fish now? Ha ha! You're not a late person or a fussy eater out of the UK then?
So good to see photos of your day. And I thought Scotland sucked re: weather! Have a good day chick. x
hello seems you had a great weekened and i like your philosophy, 'be a hermit until Sunday'. i also enjoyed all those photos with 'Ramu trip' journal, special 'palmy-balmy'...that is really a 'i-had-a-great-weekened' kinda photo.
Good work..keep it up girl.. Hey,
Wish i could be one of the musketeers(: Wish...
Its great reading your experiences there..its refreshing and heartening...
Do keep us updating about more such happenings...(don't forget to tell us about the Girls eventual fight against the destiny her father so manly bestowed upon her, tell her how was her speech..)
Awaitng to hear more...

Romeo and Juliet Never knew you had such talent for not only observing but writing so beautifully, am sitting in the computer class at my Uni supposedly studying antenatal drug use but actually trying not to cry beacuse of how happy I am for those two who I don't even know... Thankfully the ending was such a happy one! Sounds like what you are doing suits you very well, and I hope there continues to be those little rays of joy in your days. Take care and keep the text coming!
beautiful what a lovely story told by a great storyteller! send the happy couple my congratulations and many happy years together. on days like these you must really feel the impact of your work. well done girly ;)
hey Thanks for including me in your blog. Your writing is inspirational. Sorry to hear things are tough at the moment but I have every faith in you- even if you're not very good at replying to facebook messages! I can rather see your excuse now.
Lots of transcontinental love,
Jonny
Eyes opening The learning is a curve and has plenty bumps too, but the bit we have to cope with is that we can only do a very little at a time - and to realise, as I know you do, that that little can be really big to someone else. Change starts small. Keep your chin up - at least you have only one to cope with! Keep the blogs coming, they're a delight to read, as are your photos to see. Thinking of you and knowing you've a positive outlook and smile as ever.
How brave are you in that scary, damp place far away! Glad you've got some equally strong support from your colleagues. Big love and admiringness! Jamie
Hi! Just to say how pleased I was to receive your news.
Thank you for including me.I love to hear from you.
How you are and what you are doing and what you hope to achieve.
Remember In dreams and reality there are no impossibilities just so long as you dont listen to people who say "cant". It has the effect of a balloon being pricked when the balloon can really touch the sky if only there wasnt a No word and people with doom and gloom saying cant. So go for that battered wives retreat, expand on it, introduce new things to it.and make it the best there ever is because with your vision and unconquerable spirit everything and anything is possible.
Dont forget though to look after your sweet self too though. Without which you will not be able to help others. Take some Me time when its needed.keep a balance. The problems will still be there tomorrow but theres only one Iona.Keep her strong and take care of her. Love you. J.
hello your Bangla journal is great, specially when it is from an insider. the photos go well with the text. i like the one titled 'kutu palong camp'...the kids with their environment...that tells the story.
Keep on with great journal, i think this will become a great documentation. Tashi delek.

I am 23, Scottish and spending 3 months in Bangladesh interning with the UNHCR - a dream experience for me despite (or perhaps because of?) the hardships. I was kindof hoping to be able to have a page that only my friends and family could read as, for one, I can't imagine my life being that fascinating to anyone who doesn't know me. It's also because I am working for a well-respected international organisation - one that I myself am respecting more and more each day. So I hearby want to make it known that anything found within these entries is in no way indicitive of or at all representative o... full info
