Iona
I am 23, Scottish and spending 3 months in Bangladesh interning with the UNHCR - a dream experience for me despite (or perhaps because of?) the hardships. I was kindof hoping to be able to have a page that only my friends and family could read as, for one, I can't imagine my life being that fascinating to anyone who doesn't know me. It's also because I am working for a well-respected international organisation - one that I myself am respecting more and more each day. So I hearby want to make it known that anything found within these entries is in no way indicitive of or at all representative of the organisation I am working with - all these are my own personal thoughts and opinions and they should be viewed as highly likely to change as I learn. To all my friends and family - given that anyone in the world could read what I say, and that I don't want to be responsible for rocking the boat here in what is a hopeful but senistive situation, I hope you will understand and at times be able to follow me and read between the lines, and understand the not-saids as much as the saids.
I hope you enjoy.
I love you all,
Iona (which in the local Chittagonian dialect means 'come here'. People seem to find this hilarious - I'm not often one of them!) xx
