I have always wanted to travel overseas and I'd hoped to have fulfilled that goal before I turned 50.....well I'm going to only just sneak it in as I'll be spending my 50th birthday in Disneyland (the original that is).

16/10 Uneventful flight of 10 hours (our longest), tiring to say the least. Lost a day flying over the date line as well. Arrived in Fiji around 6am and were met by a Navini rep. who drove us a marina where we were picked up by Islands' boat. They had problems restarting it so we were offered drinks at the cafeteria, coffee for me, beer for Jac and Joodz. After half an hour we were off, an excellent way to start our stay with a 40 minute boat ride across the Mamanuca Strait to Navini, our tropical paradise. We stepped off the boat into the shallows, the water was lovely and warm, met by the ever smiling Fijian assistant manager and escorted to the office/shop/library for a run down on the island, our Bure was ready ... read more

9/10 Uneventful bus trip to Santa Monica, which took a little longer than expected due to LA traffic. Arrived at the Fairmont Mirramar how luxurious. We had to accept an upgrade to a suite because the room we had booked wasn't available, beautiful suite but alas no view, they also threw in complimentary Champagne, chocolates and strawberries as Jac told them we had renewed our vows and celebrated my birthday. Checked out a few shops had dinner and back to our room for a few drinks before bed. 10/10 Not happy with our upgrade due to no view, so Jac sweet-talked the receptionist and got us downgraded to the room we had paid for which was smaller than the suite but has a balcony with a view, have to wait till tomorrow though. Six hour tour ... read more

5/10 Lux bus to San Diego......not the bus ride from hell this time. Arrived too early to check in so we patronised the English style pub in our hotel for a spot of lunch and a drink while awaiting our room. Able to check in at 2 a couple of hours earlier than the usual check in time. Excellent room on the 11th floor over looking the San Diego bay and right opposite the cruise line terminal, where a new liner docked every day for an ever changing view. We also had a great view of the naval base, Jac got very excited. 6/10 Day trip to the SD Zoo, world class and beautiful. Saw my favourite animals, the giant panda along with every other animal you'd expect to find in a zoo. It wasn't gay ... read more

2/10 Well howdy boys and girls. After the bus ride from hell we finally arrived at Disneyland. Why was it the bus ride from hell.........the trip was supposed to take 4 1/2 hours but ended up being closer to 7, firstly it was nearly an hour late picking us up, then we had a pompous driver and loud mouth hostess who talked over the movie and had their radio turned up so high while listening to their election debate. Then to make matters worse they had other drop offs before our hotel, at one of these stops an elderly lady with her two grandchildren realised one of their bags was missing, which held us up for another 1/2 an hour. Didn't get to our hotel until 11pm, checked in and off to our room only to ... read more

30/9 Viva Las Vegas. What a wild place, arrived at our Hotel/Casino (Treasure Island) around lunch time and lucky for us our room was ready, for a few extra dollars we upgraded to a suite which gave us a larger room with a sofa and two bathrooms, the foyer was as big as our bedroom. Dumped our bags then off to check out the casino before making our 3 o'clock appointment for our costume fittings. What fun, the lady is very talented and only does costumes by appointment. She is in the process of making costumes for Mariah Carey's new video, gorgeous cossies. Back to "TI" for a few drinks and a poke before heading out on to the strip in search of tucker. 1/9 Wedding day (renewal that is), Joodz and I went to the ... read more

26/9 It was my turn for the window seat, lucky me all I could see was a dirty great jet engine other than that a short an uneventful flight. Our room was ready so dumped our bags again and off to check out the sights and have some lunch. Back to the room for a rest and a few drinks then over to the famous Pier 39, which is right across the road from our hotel. At the end of the pier lives a sea-lion colony of a couple hundred or so, boy are they noisy. They live on purposely built pontoons, this is so they don't climb on to the docks. We had dinner on the pier, more fish and chips but yum yum yummy. 27/9 Bus tour which took us all over the city, ... read more

Hi everyone, the Queen Mary was excellent. After a reasonably short flight (5 hours) we arrived at LAX, flight was ok except for the ignorant oriental types sitting in front of us who put there seats right back and kept blocking our view of the movie. The onboard food was good though, being a domestic flight we had to pay for our beverages though. Our room was ready on arrival, so dumped our bags and proceeded to wander around the ship then straight to the bar for drinks. Room service that night which was good, then off to bed......been a long day. 25/9 Caught te local bus to a bar (Joe Josts) in the sticks, Jac saw a T.Shirt advertising the bar in Honolulu and decided he couldn't go home without one. That was an experience ... read more

Greetings from the other side of the world. After 1/2 an hour delay in Adelaide we finally took off around noon, 4 1/2 hour flight to NZ was uneventful and fun. Two hour layover and then enroute to Hawaii, another 8 or so hours in the air arriving at 7:15am on the same day we left..........virtually no sleep on the plane, its very hard to sleep sitting up. As we arrived so early our room wasn't ready so we had to wander around until lunch time. Severely jet lagged so we had to have a little nanny nap. Headed off to find somewhere for dinner, Cheeseburger Paradise looked good and it was. Most restaurants don't have any windows as there are no flies, mossies or moths in Hawaii. Back to the hotel to crash for the ... read more
