The bicycle panniers I ordered came yesterday. I settled with the Nashbar Euro Compact. I am satisfied I am able to fit all my cookware and camping supplies in them. I have weighed all my gear and I am at 70lbs. Not bad seeming that the Axiom Journey Rack hold a maximum capacity of 154lbs. As far as my "tent" goes I previously bought a Clark Jungle Hammock. After cycling 40 miles on my full suspension mtn bike, with the 50 lbs on my back from Virginia to DC for the inauguration, I decided that ambition without efficiency would prove useless. Today I sold my 2008 Gary Fisher HI-FI platinum and invested in a 2006 Specialized Tricross Sport road bike. The rack and panniers have been ordered. I bought a pump, computer, and U lock today.
