We left Sally and Ian after a delicious breakfast and morning tea and headed to see Patrick and Ashlee in Kohimarama, Auckland. We stopped at Paeroa for a early lunch - the Courtyard Cafe is well recommended - delicious tea, coffee and the best white chocolate and raspberry muffin every tasted! We arrived early at Ashlee and Patrick's home and were welcomed warmly by Ashlee and Flynn and offered tea, banana cake, scones and chocolate - how lucky were are! then were picked up Patrick from work at the Sacred Heart College and had more tea and cake, then off for a walk with Flynn. We stayed at Sally and Ian's place for the weekend. What a nice relaxing time we had with plenty of walking, talking and eating! We saw the land where Sally and Ian's new home is being built - what fantastic views! Then we visit Katikati which is their nearest town - we had coffee here. We visited Bethlehem on Sunday and walked through the markets and more coffee. We walked to the ferry at Omokoroa and watched the fish being caught off the jetty.... read more

We set off on Friday morning on our way to see Sally and Ian for the weekend. On the way, we stopped at Pukete, Hamilton to see Joseph and Stacey. We arrived at midday and were lucky enough to be able to see Stacey teaching at Frankton Primary School. It was the schools' centennial celebrations so all "old pupils" were walking around the school having a look at all the classrooms. We left Stacey to her work, and went to look at 3 properties, one of which was going for Auction on 7 April - hope they get it!! We went to the races today in Dargaville. Even though those poor people in Christchurch after their earthquake yesterday were still in our minds, we decided to go ahead and spend our day as planned many months ago. Opening Day at the Museum

Today was the opening of the new Kiwi House at the Northland Regional Museum. Lots of people were there including dignitaries - we were treated to a nice cup of tea or two and some live music from the local Band. We also saw Tineke, Michael, Amy, Mike Rylee and James!... read more

It rained and rained all day and night and day and night - the result, as you can see, when we went to look at the stream in Reed Memorial Park, was amazing! We could only go so far and then the path was over taken by a raging torrent - check out the video too!!... read more

tonight after work we were fortunate enough to be invited out for a curry at Mum and Dads' place as it's Dad's birthday tomorrow (14 Jan). We arrived with cake, one candle and a present of home-made gingernuts!! The meal was scrumptious and served with panache! Coffee/tea and good company was the finishing touch.
