Ok, so the updates have been sparse for a while. Our last run in Japan (Osaka Kobe Tokyo) was pretty hectic and we didn't really have time to update, but we will put up a ton of pictures of the last few days later tonight. We are now in Aiea, Hawaii staying at Jordan's sister's house. The flight was good and jetlag is minimal. We are planning on hitting a beach for the afternoon then relaxing tonight. Pictures to come later!... read more

Here are some pictures from the first day in Osaka. This city is HUGE almost as big as Tokyo. There are soooo many shopping malls and that seems to be about the only thing here. We went to the Umeda Sky Building which is a cool structure that has a kind of romance lounge at the top with love seats and couchs that overlook the city. It was pretty funny but had some good views of the city and a lot of smog. We went to a club last night where Walt's friend David was DJing from 2-330 am. It was wild and a lot of fun. Everyone there loved us and it was a blast. We stayed up until the sun came out then slept and went shopping today.... read more

Pictures from Nagoya, we were there last Saturday and Sunday. Also included are Kyoto and Nara. We leave Kyoto tomorrow (Friday) for Osaka. Kyoto is probably my favorite city so far. Lots of temples for meditation, cool shrines, awesome musicians and sushi. We even ate a few McDonald's items to try them out. The teriyaki burger and pork and potato pie are pretty delicious.... read more

Ok so yesterday we went to Kinkakuji, or Golden Pavillion Temple, which was pretty sweet. It is a pretty famous temple in Kyoto because most of it is plated in gold. We got some good pictures that will be put up when we have more time, but for now check these out: How we saw it I wish I cold've seen it like this: Kinkakuji in the winter After that we learned how to use the bus system in Kyoto, then walked past Nijo castle but couldn't go in because it had just closed. We got a few pictures but we will get plenty more when we actually go inside. We walked around exploring the city for a while because this city seems so different than the other ones we've been to so far... it is ... read more

Note: In order to fully enjoy this entry please press play on the song Check Out Time by 2Pac now. It's Monday morning so that means it's check out time! Time to check out of our Nagoya hotel and head to Kyoto on the Shinkansen. Yesterday was a great day walking all of Nagoya with Walter's MTSU exchange student friend Yuki. He was awesome meeting us in Sakae district to walk us around to all of the great shops and restaurants including a video game arcade where we watched some rediculously insane DDR moves and played some rock band type games. We ate pork wrapped rice balls, tonkatsu-miso, tonkotsu (pork bone) ramen, and conveyor belt sushi for lunch yesterday. Another day of amazing food that Walter with a good case of da mud butt. Last night ... read more

Well, second day of Nagoya. The first day was pretty cool but there was some stress --- Jordan had no cash and couldn't find an ATM that worked, or we thought. The JP Bank (Japanese post office bank) is supposed to work with almost all American credit/debit cards, but he couldn't get money out of it for some reason. Well, I funded our day yesterday in hopes that he would find money today. We went out last night with his friend Scott who is teaching English here, as well as a lot of Scott's friends. It was pretty cool, Nagoya has good food. Misokatsu is awesome, as well as ebi furyaa. I love Japanese mayonaise. Best mayonnaise in the world, by far. Anyway, this morning we got up and the first mission of the day was ... read more

Ok, so being the mountains the last two days we definitely didn't have the internet. We just made it to Nagoya and we are back in business, so pictures will be up as soon as we put them on the computer. Not sure where the last post left off, but we stayed in Yokohama for a day and have some good pictures from it. We rode the biggest ferris wheel in the world, did a few rollercoasters, and then biked about 25 miles around the city. Yeah, 25 miles. It actually wasn't that bad. At night, there was absolutely nothing to do and we got frustrated walking around looking, so we just went back to the hotel and crashed. The next day we headed to Hakone. Took us a little while to get there (bullet train ... read more
