Thank you - belatedly! Sorry I have been remiss and not posted any comments for a while. It sounds as if you've had a turbulent few weeks and got to know the toilet facilities in Malawi! Thank you so much for my gorgeous birthday present - it has already become a firm favourite!
Really looking forward to seeing you very soon. Look after yourself and take care. Big Sis xxx
Abba?!?! 'Thank you for the music'..? Good lord.... Next they'll be doing Bucks Fizz's 'Making Your Mind Up'
I hope you taught them a verse of A Design For Life instead.
How's Malawi? It was great to speak to you when Mum and I came over to see Em for the weekend and apologies for not sending you any messages recently. I hope that all is going well in Malawi and that you will still be able to communicate via the blog as it's keeping me entertained and making me plan my own career diversion! Look after yourself and hope to speak to you soon. x
Hello Milicent good to read all your news it sounds like it's getting a bit boring (not) we are at the moment transforming the garden so you will feel at home when you get back it's a kind of African feel to it included in it is two very wild cats ! and a blonde tour guide . Enjoy the next leg of your journey take care safe travelling love from Lynnxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Did you meet Ewan and Charlie whilst you were off biking ? Sounds like it was awesome! We went off roading in the merc on holiday - following Ems directions Ha Ha take care xxxx
Hi Martin it's good to read your blog and keep up with all your news. It must seem a bit surreal seeing all the animals in the own environments rather than the sad looking animals we saw in enclosure at the various zoos and rain forests we visited in the IOW. We made sure we covered the whole islan within the week we were there. We were all surprised at the constant references to the dinosaurs! Slightly bigger than the animals you are encountering! All is well at home, Em is missing you terribly but Elvis is making a daily fuss of her for you, and of course I am trying to give her grief every day. Well you take care of you. Happy travelling.x
All Sounds Truly Amazing Hiya Martin - all that you've been up to sounds amazing!! Am really enjoying hearing about all you've been up to. So much so, that me and my sis are presently looking into booking South Africa trip to include Kruger Park in November/December, as have over 2 weeks off then and can get to Jo'berg for £75 with Virgin. If you know of any tour companies that you can recommend would be great to know, as there are just sooo many to choose from, is really pot luck. Looking forward to your next installment.
take care and keep safe
Love Rach xxxx
Aah...african beer, I remember trying that on a school trip once, "acquired taste" is being a bit generous from what I remember!! This quad bike trip sounds great, might give that a try myself once I'm home. Really happy to hear you're enjoying yourself, your description of the animals has reminded me off all the things I took for granted living in africa.... made me even more desperate to be home!! cheers! D
Photos?? So where are all the fantastic pics then?? Glad you're having a great time, very jealous of the big cat encounters - seeing a leopard is so lucky! Look forward to the next blog....am travelling vicariously through you while sat at my desk bored!!!! xxxx
Postcards from an Uncle.... the boys were really excited when your postcards arrived, Al thought he looked like the lion and the other one was representative of me? rhino? can't quite see it myself.....?
P-all is quiet and good here, getting the house more in shape - took a jewelery course (silversmithing) and gave me incentive to clean out the workshop. have made a few rings and things..
A-oh well at least if she gives up on that, then the workshop is cleared out!
anyway - as always its great to hear about what you are up to, sounds a bit more exciting than here, the only wild animals we see round here are Charlie and Sam.
P- i start my new job at Lloyds (guy at works thought it was said ler-loyds ha ha) in 3 weeks and counting, first week of sept!
hope all continues to go well, sounds like hard work...
Awesom stuff Awesom stuff, Martin! I follow your adventures all the way from Kalamazoo... I can't wait to see the pictures, have you tried to connect the memory card straight to the laptop, rather than through the camera? It should work without drivers...
I would like to see some pictures of your white skinny body pressing these heavy red earth bricks :)
Hey Martin... glad to see you're enjoying yourself! your descriptive blogs are making me very homesick!! Well I've got my official letter now, so 8 weeks until unemployment, and 10 until I get home..woohoo
Really good to hear all your news it sounds absoulutely fabulous. Cant wiat to see some photos. Have you found me a giraffe yet? Emma is fine we are looking after her, she has put on two stone and is looking really healthy ! We have had lots of retail therapy and spent millions, the house has been fully refurbished and looks as beautiful as Emma. Elvis has been really good only destroying some of the new furnishings. We spent the day redesigning the garden and you wont recognise it when you get back. Struggled to spend a whole day shoping in Canterbury as the Merc had to go in to be looked at for our forthcoming trip to the Isle Of Wight which we are all really looking forward to. Bagheera and Bella are recovering nicely from their ops, pleased thats over with! Well you take care of you must rush the shops are still open. Take care lots of love from Lynnxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

wow sounds magical! sounds like fun and an experience of a lifetime. I am very envious of all but the digging - although the feel good factor of helping people and creating something that worthwhile must be fantastic especially seeing it all first hand.
Have a fab time and fingers crossed for some male company!!

Suwabona Unjani!! I'm reading your blog with great interest - like a book - I cant wait to find out what happens next - keep us up to date. -- Sala Kahle
Dead Jealous!!! I'm glad your rucksack has arrived otherwise your clothes would be walking around on there own soon!! The Company lawyer who lived in Africa 4 a while has explained how to pronounce Mbabane and why mud bricks don't melt! So your blog is educational for everyone here in the office! I can see you'll end up doing all the cooking if your not careful - don't get taken for a ride. I'm looking forward to seeing all the photos when you get back. Take care of yourself. xxx
Coping Strategies It must be tough in an all girl camp, but it sounds like you are fitting in well. Cooking, cleaning, making mud bricks. That kind of thing... ;)
I am so happy that you are enjoying your experience and really making a difference to people. Can't wait to see some pics!
Rob
