| 11th December 2009 Jan & Edder | Good to see you guys - From: From Summer to Winter in a day! K&B: Its good to see you guys again - welcome back to Canada. The weather is a bit cooler than you have been used to but you guys will be too busy visiting with friends to notice. You can always have a few caesars to take the chill out. It certainly didn't take you long to become employed Brett. You had better slack off the work stuff 'cause its almost Christmas holidays. Hope you guys have a real good time here and are able to get a bit of snowboarding in, if Brett's leg permits it. Happy holidays and all the best in 2010. J&E |
| 26th November 2009 Jan & Edder | holiday time - From: What happened to us? Hi guys, good update and great pictures. I don't know if we will recognize you guys after all that good eating and exercise. We like the updated pose. Can't believe that Brett slacked off on the brewski's though. Anxious to see you guys for the Christmas season, its been over two years since we have seen Brett. Good thing that you sent pictures of him. Have a good flight. J&E |
| 31st October 2009 Merry | From SFA No.2 - From: Happy Anniversary! Congratulations on your Anniversary! Time sure flies when you have fun doesn't it?Love your comparisions but as an Aussie, may I make a few comments? A singlet (Jim would say ) is a vest...& I reckon a vest is a waistcoat!! A tank top is a tank top. A raison is different to sultanas, & I know what a toque is - I would have said it is a firm fitting chic hat, but I guess a beanie isn't too far from a firm fitting hat - don't know about chic beanies though! You have got the grasp of the language & I don't think we are all that different underneath. We are just back from Moruya, had a good week but it was quite cool & windy, about 25 vans were there. Just in time to do the lawns, garden, hedge, etc then we are off to Norfolk Island on the 15th Nov for a week. Hope you are both well...love SFA & SFU No.2 |
| 21st October 2009 SFA | 2 years + 2days - From: Happy Anniversary! Daer Guys, well it does not seem like 2 years & 2 days since we picked you up from the airport. Its been great, I hope you have enjoyed every bit of OZ as much as we have enjoyed having you here. I love your description of all our sayings & I think you have picked up on our "lingo" pretty well. Beauty mate. good on ya!!! Ha! Ha! We are missing you , keep well. Lots of Love SFA, SFU & SFD's xxxx |
| 21st October 2009 Jan & Edder | 2 yrs in Aussie - From: Happy Anniversary! Hi KB & BL: Can't believe that you guys have been in Aus for 2 yrs either. Time goes by quickly so it is so great that you are having this adventure. We certainly enjoyed the country when we were there and would like to return one of these years before we end up in "the home". We never did grasp everything that the Aus people said to us as they speak fast with an accent, coupled with slang. I think they believed we were deaf as we asked them to repeat a lot of conversation. It is also great that you guys could spend time in different areas and experience the lifestyles, people, countryside. It certainly is better than just being a tourist and having short visits. We envy you guys, enjoy yourselves & have fun. Luv JB & Edder. |
| 14th October 2009 Merry | Hi from your other SFA - From: On the road again Hi Kara & Brett, good to see you more mobile Brett, soon be off that other crutch we hope. I'm sure Tara enjoyed her time with you - must have been hard to go back to work. You pair will feel the cold when you go back to Canada! Jim & I are off next Monday to Moruya for about 8 days, it's our caravan club's birthday rally & it's always a lot of fun. A big Jazz Festival is on too & up to about 30 caravans gather from our club at a lovely park right on the river. It's nice to catch up with friends that we haven't seen for a while. Hope the weather warms up a bit though, cold & windy here today. Love reading your blog & aren't Shell & Den having a great time! Look after yourselves, love Merry & Jim xx |

| 25th June 2009 edder | Kookaburras - From: Another week gone Nice area to live and work in, guys. Wish we could join you. How about teaching those kookaburras to sing 'Oh Canada' or 'Silent Night'. You seem to have a bit of time on your hands KB, then you could enter them in various shows/contests as you guys travel around Aus. Maybe if Brett gave them a few sips of his brewskis, it would loosen up there vocal cords. Enjoy yourselves and take care. J&E |
