Such as a great many other past plus latest NFL scalp coach, John Harbaugh hosts his own stereo demonstrate on Tuesday’s during the months. Win or maybe lose, Harbaugh requires phone calls coming from devotees about the Train Harbaugh. possibly Harbaugh was in an undesirable spirits following a new troublesome deprivation on the Steelers. Judging from their review, would seem lots of unhappy callers procured shots at the Ravens’ offense. Harbaugh hit his / her limit i do think. Yet thinking about each of in which as you move team can be virtually certain connected with hitting this playoffs for that fourth time in five seasons, is being buff belonging to the 8-4 Ravens really that will negative? In my opinion, he had not been mouthing down towards the supporters hes simply nevertheless if you are ... read more

For Brett Favre(notes), the 2010 season has been a hodgepodge of frustrating inefficiency, disappointing results, and unnecessary drama (most of it created by #4 himself). However, it is still possible to see - once in a very great while - the Favre that has prompted all that sickeningly sweet announcer and pundit love. Yes, every now and again, Brett Favre will just be Brett Favre, and be just a kid out there, and move the team as only he can. The Minnesota Vikings' 27-24 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, as wrapped up in possible coach-firings and franchise upheaval as it may have been, was just such an event. Minnesota was down in this game by as much as 14 points with less than five minutes left in regulation, but the Vikings benefitted from two ... read more

PHILADELPHIA (AP)—Michael Vick(notes) got a warning from teammate DeSean Jackson(notes) right before he was injured.“I told him: ‘Don’t take no hits like that. We can’t afford you taking hits,”’ Jackson said. “He’s just trying to make things happen.” Vick didn’t listen, and he ended up with a rib cartilage injury that may force him to miss at least Philadelphia’s next game at San Francisco. If Vick can’t play, Kevin Kolb(notes) gets another chance to prove he can be the No. 1 quarterback. Kolb began the season as Donovan McNabb’s(notes) successor, but lost his job when he sustained a concussion in Week 1 and Vick played exceptional in his absence. The offense struggled without Vick in Philadelphia's 17-12 loss to McNabb and the Redskins on Sunday. The Eagles (2-2) now travel to face a desperate 49ers team ... read more

SAN DIEGO (AP)—Chargers running back Ryan Mathews(notes) missed his second straight practice Thursday with a high ankle sprain. The rookie’s prospects of playing decrease with every missed practice, making it less likely he’ll be available for Sunday’s game at Seattle. The fact that Mathews is sitting out two days is not a good sign he will play Sunday. Mathews was optimistic Wednesday that he could play against the Seahawks. Yet, the Chargers are likely going to be very cautious with Mathews. He said Sunday he could have returned to the game but the Chargers were blowing out the Jaguars.“I can play,” Mathews said. “There’s a difference between being hurt and being injured. I can play in pain. It may be a bit uncomfortable, but as long as my bone’s not sticking through the skin, I’m good to ... read more

INDIANAPOLIS -- Things worth noting from the Giants' loss to the Colts on Sunday: What it means: That the New York Giants aren’t in the Peyton Manning/Indianapolis Colts class yet. They can beat the Carolina Panthers, but they aren’t among the elite. When the schedule came out, though, did you really think the Giants were winning this one? The Giants at 1-1 after a 38-14 loss to the Colts is what we expected. Tomorrow’s talker: The Giants seemed so wary of the pass game that they may have overdone it with with the extra defensive backs. That made it easier for the Colts to run it, and Joseph Addai and Donald Brown looked just great with the ball in their hands, combining for 161 yards and a 4.5 average. Addai looked particularly fresh, decisive and darting. ... read more

MIAMI -- When it comes to LeBron James, the Miami Heat are more concerned about W's than Q's.Every normal people have thoughts on LeBron James, you can be assured that NBA people do. From the players to the coaches to the executives, everyone thinks something about LeBron. Mark Cuban certainly does, and he's more than welcome to share those feelings, like he did with a Dallas radio show on Wednesday morning. This transcript comes from the Dallas Morning News, and it's pretty clear how Cuban feels about LeBron's summer. "Where I think LeBron made a mistake, was in how he did it. I don't even have a problem that he had the tv show. But it turned out to be the largest public humiliation in the history of sports. He humiliated the organization, he humiliated the ... read more

With his appearance on this week's cover of Sports Illustrated, Tom Brady(notes) moves into a tie with Joe Montana as the football player with the most appearances on the front of the venerable sports magazine. The quarterbacks have both appeared on SI's cover 12 times (not including commemorative issues), more than any other NFL player. David Carr(notes), meanwhile, is still stuck at one. It makes sense that Montana and Brady are tied at the top: They've won multiple Super Bowl MVP awards, played the glamour position for the best teams in the sport and have recognizable faces that sell magazines. That the most NFL appearances is 12 is a bit jarring seeing as how Michael Jordan was on the cover 56 times (Muhammad Ali and Tiger Woods are the next most frequent cover subjects with 38 ... read more

The New Orleans Saints started the 2010 campaign where they left off at the Superdome last season -- with a tight win over the Minnesota Vikings. This time, the Saints came up on the right end of a 14-9 squeaker. Here are a few notes on what we can take away from this contest. First,The Vikings were hyper-aware of the Saints' pass pressure. From early in the game and through most of it, Minnesota ran a lot of max protect sets, and multiple tight ends and backs in some interesting setups.Second,The Saints are a running team. They forgot that early on -- Sean Payton called just three running plays in the first half -- and I was about to put out a missing persons report for running back Pierre Thomas(notes) in the first half. But after halftime, Thomas ... read more

This morning, I received a contact from a source who reported to me that the University of Georgia has received word from the NCAA that A.J. Green will be suspended for four games. Last Saturday's season opener against Louisiana-Lafayette reportedly will count as the first game of the suspension, the remaining three games of which will be served during the Georgia Bulldogs' upcoming contests against South Carolina, Arkansas, and Mississippi State. I am informed that Green is scheduled to return for the Bulldogs' game against Colorado on October 2. I am told that the University will appeal, although it is unlikely that the suspension will be reduced, and, obviously, no reduction could come in time for this weekend's game in Columbia. Admittedly not knowing all the facts in the case, a few things immediately come to ... read more
