The Orchid Garden a threehectare plot of land inside the Botanical Gardens is home to the most species of orchids in the world. Orchids are sent from all over the world to add to its insurmountable collection and to create new hybrids in this garden center. The only reason we saw probably a quarter of the Bird Park was because we were exhausted from the heat and travelling so we went shopping along Orchard Road instead. We stayed at the Legend Hotel a 5star hotel for a couple of nights and it's a pretty spiffy place. We also happened upon a huge and important political meeting. It is like a big desk full of drawers and pigeonholes where everything has its place and can always be found in it. William Hornaday 1885. I've just finished emailing a friend of mine about how glad I am to be back in Singapore to put it in polite terms. We went with a tour group consisting of 22 people in total. And everywhere we went we were joined by hundreds of other tourists at every single http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/Central-Thailand/Bangkok/blog-15475.html Melbourne Australia City of Colors Finally I got the opportunity to post up photos of Melbourne Australia. Malacca or Melaka depending on how you wanna spell it is Malaysia's oldest city. I don't remember much of its history though our tour guide spent about three hours explaining it. I had a cold and had energy sucked outta me. Anyway it involves the Dutch and St. Francis and battles and other interesting stuff. http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Malaysia/Melaka/Melaka-City/blog-14881.html Reaching The Clouds Hey y'all just came back from a 7day excursion to Malaysia. Whether or not you like the country depends on where you go. Crime is rampant in Johor Bahru a city in the southern part of the country. Kuala Lumpur is safer but it's advisable not to walk alone at night especially if you're female. Men on motorcycles will stare at you with devious eyes hoping to snatch your purse or wallet and http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Malaysia/Pahang/Cameron-Highlands/blog-14708.html Bula from Fiji Just arrived in Singapore last night from a missions trip to Fiji which by the way was a fulfilling and funtastic experience. I'll be heading out to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia by bus tonight. Here are photos from Fiji. I'll write a diary later since I don't have much time to spare... gotta leave for Malaysia in a bit. But here I am ready to tell all. So. Arrived in Melbourne Victoria Australia on June 30th and I just wanna say first off... this is one amazing and colorful city. The downtown area which they call 'c http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/New-South-Wales/Sydney/blog-13160.html City Life People in Bandar and Kuala Belait Sixteen years have passed and times have changed. As a young child I remember being mistreated by the Malay here because of my Chinese background. Nowadays if a Malay person lays a hand on any Chinese person they will be thrown in jail and caned... or least that's what the Chinese here believe. The Chinese and Malay relationship has vastly improved by leaps and bounds. They are polite even http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Brunei/Bandar-Seri-Begawan/blog-11668.html Exploring Mulu Caves June 2122 We visited the Mulu caves half an hour by plane from Miri a Malaysian town close to the Brunei border. Staying at the Royal Mulu Resort was a blast and its rooms are quite homily and comfortable. The resort is owned by a British bloke. The average staff person earns 500 ringgit 200 CDN a month a comfortable income by Malaysian standards. Here are some pictures to savour. http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Malaysia/Sarawak/blog-12033.html Touchdown Plus a Tour to Temburong Alright well... it's been a week since I've arrived in Brunei. Today's the 22nd of June and there's much to tell. Unfortunately my 1 GB memory card that held 200 photos gave out on me and I've had quite a few dreams since then of giving Visions a piece of my mind. I visited my cousins for a couple days before heading out on a Temburong tour the most eastern district or state of Brunei http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Brunei/Bandar-Seri-Begawan/blog-11665.html Almost There After 23 sleepless hours of flights and stopovers at 2345 PM I've finally arrived in Singapore. As the plane touched down at Changi Airport an almosttangible wave of nostalgia hit me. Suppressing it was no easy feat when I took the first few steps outside the airport I was amazed at the incredible amount of foliage and vegetation. Moreso I was even more frightened by the prospect that I http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Singapore/blog-11047.html Heading Out On Monday June 13th I will be heading out from Calgary for a twomonth excursion to SE Asia Brunei Malaysia Thailand Indonesia Singapore Laos Australia and Fiji.
