yesterday was Novafest which always includes drinking the whole day and soon passing out late in the afternoon for most and then maybe waking up for the concert that night. O college how fun! I live in the west campus apartments which has a nice little yard area with volleyball courts out in the front. It was a beautiful day and people were barbequing and having fun socializing for probably one of the last times before finals are over. There were tons of people on west campus! However, I wake up the next day and walk outside and I am disgusted, [View Full Entry]

hello! I was in my sociology of the family class and we watched a video that was very intriging. There is a community in southwest China that had adopted a totally different culture than our own and I found it be weird but very interesting. This community lives off the land for the majority and has little industrialization and is the mountains far away from any major society. The thing that was most interesting however was the female's role in society. For us, the women ocassionaly has to deal with sexism especially in the 20th century battling with our own rights [View Full Entry]

hello! Well I just got back from the Relay For Life in the pavillion on campus. The relay for life is a fundraiser for all kinds of cancer. They go to different locations and fundraise. People can camp out in the pavillion starting at 6p.m until 12pm the next day. I joined a team with a people in one of my classes. As I walked in there, you could see all the people walking around the track, or playing twister or playing basketball. Everyone was having fun and raising money to help a great cause. It was not until in class [View Full Entry]

hello! Well as the usual, I logged onto my computer and went to google to search for random things like many people do when they are bored and I then started thinking about google earth. I think this is crazy! When I was home on spring break, I went on my dad's computer and went on google earth. About 2 years ago, we built a new house pretty much right behind our old house which was kind of weird but besides the fact, since our new street does not really come up on maps or anything, I decided to google earth [View Full Entry]

hello! Well my contract is almost up on my phone so I started looking around for a new phone at the verizon store. I am shocked with how much the cell phone has advanced in the past 2 years that I have had my phone. Two years ago, I thought I was so cool with my small slider phone and now my phone is pitiful compared to the cell phones now. Some of the technology is really cool but some of it I find so unnecessary. A cell phone is used for certain reasons, I believe and that is to call [View Full Entry]

Hello! I enjoy writing about the places I have been in the United States and how pretty some places are that are still part of nature and not affected by industry. So, I thought I would write about my trips to California to visit my brother. I go out there alot to visit and absolutely love it out there, he actually lives in huntington beach which is south of LA. Him and his roommates enjoy going camping in different areas near him and he visited a place just south of LA during the summer which was beautiful. However, it is interesting [View Full Entry]

hello once again- Well I was getting a ride to the airport to go home and got in the car and put my seat belt on. I then started thinking a little bit about the seat belt. I then thought about past conversations I have had with my mom and dad about the history of the seat belt. Seat belts actually did not come into existence until around the 1960s I think which I think is so strange. With all the advancements in industrialization and especially the automobile, why did they not think of a seat belt? My parents were telling [View Full Entry]

hello again everyone! I was thinking about how much I miss Hawaii and want to go back soon and I thought of something also very interesting in hawaii. When we were there, we went on a private hike up through the mountains right near honolulu. We had a guide with us that was telling us all the flowers and trees that we were passing by. My mom and I were interested to see which trees and flowers were native to this island. Our guide responded in tellingeat us that most of the trees were not native at all and very few [View Full Entry]

The beautiful land of hawaii!
The fam in the forest!

hello once again~ Well I was having a conversation with my mom today about my travel blog and what I have to write in it every day and she made a great point about the technology that spoils us today. Here we have digital cameras that enable us to put pictures on a computer or print them out ourselves in the comfort of our own home where as in 5-10 years ago, we did not have this luxury. She was taking pictures of her students the other day at school, and she found herself complaining about the memory card being full [View Full Entry]

hello again! Well I was looking through pictures on my computer looking for inspirationand for my next travel blog entry. I noticed the pictures of my new house that was built 1 year ago and all the pictures we took of it going up. There were pictures of the first christmas in the house and I noticed our stone chimney/fireplace and I became inspired on what to write. For the past 5 or 6 years my father has been using gas-powered fireplaces for our houses. I do miss having a real fireplace and sometimes making smores putting our own wood into [View Full Entry]
