| 2nd June 2009 Everard | - From: Leaving Penang Hi Pi Wei, it's 30 years since I've been to Penang - my first & last time (so far). I guess it's changed enormously, but what doesn't seem to have changed is the obsession with food, and the variety available. Everard |
| 2nd June 2009 Everard | re Decanter photo - From: Jakarta welcomes you! Hi Pi Wei, nice shawl you're wearing in the photo - it really suits you :). Big hug, Everard |

If the shopping was better then it must have been out of this world!!!!! The photos of Jakata are super chic and beautiful. It's been sooooooooo wonderful reading about your adventures to date. It's my injection of the exotic here in dull old Lecce!!!!!!!! Have a great time in Bali... I bumped into my old yoga teacher the other day and told him that you were going to Bali for yoga and he turned flourescent green with envy... me too! Miss you sooo much Pi Wei! | 24th November 2008 christoph | fleeting moments - From: Before leaving . . . . dearest val majestic moment to be on the road with your father and the idea of a book to read leaves me flabbergasted what to read the choice you had for sth america was right on the mark for india well a bit of dalrymple could do the trick mmmm maybe a bit serious i have just had a run on kurt vonnegut jr easy and imaginative leaves room for india to leave its impressions...look forward to you updates one day i to will see mother india and her breathless beauty love and safe travels my friend |
| 24th November 2008 Hazel | A book, perhaps? - From: Before leaving . . . . Have a wonderful time, Ms Lim! How about 'The Time-Traveler's Wife' by Audrey Niffenegger? I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it might suit a travel in time and space.... |
| 23rd November 2008 Everard Tarascio | Bon voyage - From: Before leaving . . . . Hi Pi Wei I'm in France at the moment so can say that :). Great to hear you are just about to leave for India. I've read Nick Hornby's A Long Way Down and another book called Middlesex (can't remember the author) recently and enjoyed them a lot, both passed down to me from my daughter after we travelled together. I'd give them to you to take but haven't worked out how to dematerialise them and send across the ether so they get to you in time. Hope you have a wonderful time (and your father too). Wow, you'll only be 6000kms away, not 12,000. un fuerte abrazo Everard |
| 23rd November 2008 fiona | Who organised what I wonder ? - From: Before leaving . . . . Sounds like you're ready to rumble. Your Father is a born autocrat. I suspect your Ma did the organising. Travel Happy...:). |

| 6th June 2007 anonymous | - From: danse (1) - a review yeah its easy to be underwhelmed by a performance space performance, and takes time to get into the language. but now i respond to it in umpteenth ways, just appreciating the chance to be in that giant space with subtle cool lighting, everything from the dawn of time to interstellar ruins on dr who, every try hard cool music video or fashion shoot of a model poseuring over a light box, I APPRECIATE the room to drink it all in, have this almost passive spectral figure 'being' more than 'performing' for us, then again maybe the boys should have been left at a pub gig up the road! funny considering the kind of somatic performances I have witnessed by brett late smoky nights in melbourne, remind me to reenact the night he and his twin...!! anyway luvved your take on the show. it was a fun night on the edge xx ()even if it was a touch blunt) |

| 27th April 2007 Michael Hazell | Oh my God! The theme song from Fame - From: Tango school of FAME Hi Pi-wei I have read many emails in my time but know one has written down the words from the theme song of "Fame" yet. I love those sort of songs and have been teaching the kids such classica as Evil Woman (a song caleb once sang to his six year old girl friend) but their favourite at the moment is "You give love a bad name" by Bon Jovi. Rock the world baby!!! Hug Michael |
| 25th April 2007 valeriavine | don't be a snob....! - From: IGUASU - take a load off But if it makes you feel better the version is from the album Flesh and Wood which is collaboration with the Badloves in 1993. | 24th April 2007 Everard | Apologies for everything - From: Sunderland / broken shoes / y Nada Mas Ok, mea culpa for everything that night - clumsily dropping shoes, breaking shoe heel, whizzing you around when drunk (you that is, not me :), talking while dancing (it wasn't even a piropo, just trying to get you to take care of my luggage issue - nothing's a problem any more, is it?), etc (can't remember the rest of the things I did wrong that night but whatever they were I apologise unreservedly). |
| 24th April 2007 Everard | The Band/Jimmy Barnes version - From: IGUASU - take a load off I'm having a little trouble imagining Jimmy Barnes singing this - I've got The Band version running through my head, which I really like and often hum/sing under my breath, but Jimmy Barnes !!! I will withhold any further judgement until I hear it (which could be a long time unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, as generally I don't like Jimmy Barnes' rendition of songs). |
| 24th April 2007 Everard | My luggage - From: COLONIA - an island off the coast of Argentina I sincerely want to thank Pi Wei for taking such good care of my luggage and can highly recommend her services if you should want to outsource this capability. | 24th April 2006 Jane H | Me again - From: Udaipur city of Romance and Octapussy Jaiselmer is one of the most spectacular places I visited in India... I felt very emotional to leave. Three days riding around the desert on a camel was a magical experience - unlike any other. Enjoy. You should try a bhang lassie by the way (if you haven't already)....but don't get freaked out by the stray dogs who come into their own at night. XX |
| 24th April 2006 Jane H | Envious - From: Hanuman temple / Au Revoir Varanasi Hey Pi Wei I am rather jealous I have to say. Have been there twice so your emails create quite a tangible and visual memory. I saw Water last night (Deepa Mehta's latest offering). I thought of you....a large portion of the film was set at the ghats and all had shaved heads....filmed in Sri Lanka though, as Deepa has a deathwish on her and it was deemed to dangerous to go back to india to film it!. |
