What an amazing experience for this little south african! On wednesday night we had so much snow that only 3 of the 9 OT's were able to make it into work - and 2 of those live on the property - one being me! 31 of the surgery staff called in to say it was taking them 3 hours to get into work, so they werent bothering and were just going to go home! After a wonderful 6 week break in sunny south africa, i returned to begin Adventure Part 2. Spent some lovely days with Johnny and Helen in Grateley, gathering my thoughts an belongings, before retrieving my bike from Chester, and heading onto Cardiff. Llandough Hospital has an awesome hand therapy department with the most fantastic opportunities to learn and grow. My colleagues are wonderful girls and together they make up a really tight and efficient team. Its amazing how God is able to lead and guide one when your heart is open to Him. I cant believe how many mistakes I’ve almost made, and yet everytime He’s bailed me out and headed me in the right direction again.. WOW! a wreck divers paradise! meant to be one of the top 10 wrecks dives in the world, and said to be the best dive in the mediteranean! The zenobia wreck is a ferry that was carrying 104 articulated trucks when she sank in 1980 just off the shore of larnaka, cyprus. Today the wreck is largely in tact - starting at 18m, and bottoms at 45m. Life is never boring with the Tworts - we have had some lovely chats and laughs, and it always makes me feel so much closer to my family - Lindsay and Mum have very similar characteristics... The weather at the moment is glorious - between 28-30 degrees without the humidity. We spend the first part of the day enjoying the coolness of the mornings on the veranda, chatting about the potential plans for the day, and washing back cups of tea. Just spent the most glorious 3 days in a little seaside town called paphos. This is where Paul visited on one of his missionary journeys, and today we stopped by the church, with the supposed pillar that he was chained to and whipped! Acts 13:6-12 Paul and Barnabas preached the gospel to mainly to Jews while they crossed the island from east to west. Finally they arrived to Paphos. Paphos was the capital city of Roman rule in Cyprus and the center of the worship for Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty. The city had evil reputation for laxity of morals. [View Full Entry]

back into turkey! did a tour a la flynn around the old city of nicosia and visited some markets..... then we went over the mountains to a 12 century monsastry which is nestled into the side of the mountains, called Bellapais, and overlooking the karenias harbour and out to the med - so beautiful!!!!! so very lazy lunch and afternoon, then went for tea at some of their friends who live along this hillside - reminded me very much of noordhook in the cape - same kind of vibe - but the feel is so greek/italian, with beaufitul boganvillas hanging from [View Full Entry]

Arrived in Cyprus 2 days ago after a fabulous 5 week holiday in Scotland, Egypt and Turkey. I'm currently staying with my mum's cousin and husband, Lindsay and FLynn - a truely wonderful couple who are so much fun and have some really neat stories. Havent seen them for 15 years, so have some serious catching up to do.
