Coming Home
How I have enjoyed your blogs! They have brought back great memories of the many trips Ben & I had made in our 34 years of marriage. We were at Bryce Canyon the 1st week of January 1989 with an Elderhostel group and traveled around that whole area. With the red rock, green trees, blue skies and white snow covering the ground...it was beautiful! Glad I was able to make it to the family get-to-gether to enjoy your narration with your slide show. Good Job! Well done! Dottie

Formal dress
Both of you look very very nice in your formal wear!!!! Oh yes, I remember you saying one time that when you take a cruise, you never use the lifts but that you walk up and down the stairs instead. So, was being on the 12th deck a good or bad thing???

Love it!
I love how descriptive you were with the wind, and I can just imagine you and John laying there and laughing with the incredible wind. Love you.

John's beard
Jessica and Mathew think that John's beard looks awesome!! He should keep it all the time - of course they do have their father as an example to love beards and mustaches.

Hiking!
Sounds like you had a great time on your vacation from your year-long vacation! Chris & I have just started training for Kilimanjaro - yesterday we hiked Barr Trail to the A-frame and back (14 miles) and my feet are sore! I can't imagine hiking this kind of distance every day for a month! I need hiking tips from you when you get back! Also, love the sunrise!

Mountain man!!
I have never seen John in a beard. Is he going to keep it for long? Maybe he can keep it until we see you in June? I am glad you are traveling together again. Hope you are enjoying Ireland. Love you both.

Greece
Greece really sounds like a fascinating country with such diversity. I hope to visit one day and would have to allow plenty of time. Hiking Samaria Gorge sounds amazing! Love the sunset!

Found you!
Beth, Hello from us! I loved what you wrote about not deciding what island to hop to until the last moment; we actually managed to buy a ticket and catch a ferry from Pireas (to Patmos) in about 20 minutes time. It became quite the adventure as we tried to sprint with packs from E4 to E1. Thankfully, the bus came and I hopped on only to catch up with Erik, who was way ahead of me. He saw the glare of my "airfoil" sleeping mattress through the bus window & hopped on just in time. Never will I take for granted the power of a gaudy accessory again. Take care & keep in touch!

Vicarious
Beth, This has been fun, watching your progress. I was especially interested in this blog entry, for some reason. From the looks of the ruins, the economy in ancient Greece was not much better than it is today. : ) John

Hope to be There Soon
Amy and I are planning our trip to Italy & Greece, and a crusie to the Greek Islands (Sept-Oct). Your blog entries are entertaining and timely for our planning. If you stay out of the big cities, is renting a car the way to go or should we plan to ride trains? Enjoy the rest of your trip. BTW. JMS officially cancelled the two RFPs on Monday and we have no plan forward. Got to love it. :) John

Still Enjoying Your Posts
Beth and John - Just wanted to relay that I am really enjoying your posts. You sound so relaxed and "flexible"; I particularly liked the comment on the wine tasting (John likes them all!). More swirl than usual on the home front (read that as delays) but we are trying to survive as best we can in Colorado. Keep enjoying your fantastic journey - it shines through - pictures were good too with both of you smiling.
