How many other people can say that they have taken the plunge into the unknown as far as you. Well I hope it's been an expince and I hope your ok with hanging on until your warm welcome back to england. I know this comment is late but like you I've had trouble getting access to the internet. |

| 4th September 2007 Kate | Tonky Poos - From: failing... Awww sad to hear that it is like that in the school! If you really dont feel settled in after another couple of weeks than maybe you should jack it in and go for another job elsewhere teaching if you still want to do it! However what i think you should do is plan the curriculum yourself (however long you are meant to be staying) and just stick to that, do the best you can and the only time you should doubt it is if anyone complains or questions you and then if they do voice your opinions to the headmaster or whomever and get very very drunk! Just teach them what you think they need to know and to get a good start in the English Language! I dont think anyone will think little of you if you return early, you cant help it if you dont like it! We all miss ya and good luck! |
| 4th September 2007 Eddie | Wisdom.... if you could call it that - From: failing... Cooey darling, i think you should stick at it, its not much of a comparison but in my first few weeks at my job I was exactly the same. I hated it, as i didnt know what i was doing, didnt know anybody and well just felt like packing it in. But as time progressed I picked it up, my training was shit compared to what I should have had, I think if you aim to decide on what methods you teach to the kiddies, and get into a routine your comfortable with then it will seem so much better than it is now. Hopefully I helped a bit, just a bit of advise from my workings :) |
| 12th August 2007 Kate | Sounds Fun! - From: been a while I am so jealous of you Mike, i really wish i was there, in fact if i dont get a job by October i might just raid my savings and bugger of the the Prague Language Centre, not as adventurous as China i might add but a good school with great credentials! Your blog made me crack up, sounds like you're going through the wars at the moment but you have lots of fun ahead you lucky thing! Aargh the teaching bit sounds terrifying but i can imagine your would be a great teacher heck you managed to teach me the chinese card game after all. I bet the students will love you! Anyway take care and try not to get into anymore trouble! |
