Hi. Here are some pictures I found on the internet about the bombings on July 7th. It's strange to be here when it's all happening. We are a long way away from safe little New Zealand. I'm not scared, but it's odd to see places on TV that you know & have been to many times, being evacuated. The King's Cross station is one we used often, as it was right by the second hostel we stayed in. That's the one where most people were trapped on the tube - you can see them trying to find their way out of the tunnel in the dark. The bus bomb in Tavistock Square was also right next to a park we used to go to to get away from all the people at the hostel. The seat ... read more

Hi everyone. Here are some more pictures of London. There are some of where we are living, and also some of the London Eye (Millenium Wheel), which we finally made it to yesterday. You can see most of the city quite well, & some of the cool buildings that surround it, like Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. Miss yas, Toni xxxxxx ... read more

Hi again. This is all we have of London so far. We have been to a lot of places, but mostly at night time, so don't have many digital shots. We have also been trying to go to a few parks (which are free), while we are looking for jobs, so it doesn't cost us too much money. We have been to Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace & Trafalgar Square (all not pictured, so I will have to get back there), as well as Tower Bridge, the Tower of London (where they used to execute people) & the Royal Albert Hall. Will take more pictures another time, but this is it for now, plus a few shots of one of the hostels we stayed in, as well as the public transport around here. Will send ... read more

Hello. Here are some shots of us on the plane, looking a little worse for wear on our 14 hour flight fromMelbourne to Dubai. Dubai was definately an experience in itself - about 40 degrees celcius by 7am. It was hard to walk around with the heat baking up from the footpath. No one has backyards - they were all just plots of hard dirt surrounded by a fence. There were camels tied up as pets, and everything was really sandy. We went on an amazing desert safari that included a 4WD kamikaze ride over sandunes, a BIG (awesome) cultural feast, camel rides (yay!) henna (temporary) tattoos, dress-ups, & a cultural dancer or two. It was really, really excellent. Shopping (especially Duty Free) is ridiculously cheap in Dubai, especially if buying gold products or electronics. It ... read more

Hello. I made it safely to Melbourne where Vaughan met me at the airport, & we ventured into the city on the super-speedy bus to where his friends were staying North Fitzroy. I met Vaughan's very good friend Pauley who works at night time as a DJ. He's a bit of a character, as are many of the people who seem to stop by at their place on an average day, & I have had a good time just hanging out. Vaughan & I have seen a few things around the city - I took him to the Crown Casino which is a huge complex that I have been to before. We also headed up to St Kilda & saw Luna Park, as well as taking some photos from the top of the Rialto Towers in ... read more
