Day 22 Had a quiet day trying to organise some staff for Patagonia and munching down one last steak before we left BA. Then got the night bus to Mendoza with Col for the 13 hour haul. There’s guys who out your bag on the buses, but you have to take them right up to the boot and they then just pick them up and throw them on, and then they want a tip. Day 15 The journey to BA was a beast but was mostly overnight so it wasn't too bad. We got told food was included so we didn't take any on and by about 8 we were absolutley starving. Hours kept passing until it hit about half 11 and we finally stopped. We were expecting to have to get out and buy food but we got led into a little cafe in the bus depot and only got a bloody 3 course meal with drinks. Day 7 Nese! Nese! Nese! Went to see the footy at the Maracana between Fluminese and Botafogo. It was the cup final so all was a bit mental. We were in the Fluminese end as we went with the owner of the hostel who is a big fan. There were flags and flares and drums banging way before the start of the match, better than anything the Brits have got to offer, apart from the mighty Darlo of course, nothing like 4000 in a 25000 capacity. Day 5 Opted for an early start so we could maximise any possible sunshine.. Headed down to Ipanema beach where we could see the Christ. After umming and ahhing for a while about the clouds we just decided to risk it and head up. What a good decision. Sun shone down on us and the clouds stayed away. THe views were amazing. We could see the whole city and right across to Sugar Loaf. Tom took on the role of Japenese tourist and snapped away at every possible opportunity! Rio De Janeiro Day 1 and 2 Flights all good and on time which was nice. Arrived in Rio on Monday morning and went straight to hostel….there was a problem with our room so we got moved to an apartment right by the Copacabana. We thought this was great until we went for a trot around in the eve and found very few spots to eat and the bars that were nearby were packed with hookers.
