This sight kept me laughing for a good fifteen minutes. I think it was the combination of focus and determination and the gaping jowl.
And it comes to an end. Our month-long journey from Toronto to Vancouver ends on November 6th, 2006 with a day of driving from Thunder Bay to home sweet home. Pulling out of Thunder Bay at 5:30 a.m., we caught the sunrise as we drove through the beautiful Superiour region just east of Thunder Bay. We were determined to get home today to see everyone, and we were actually a full day ahead of our anticipated schedule. Both of us were very excited to get home and getting such an early start allowed us to see the sunrise, catch some Z's, [View Full Entry]

We travelled from Calgary to Medicine Hat, and then Medicine Hat to Brandon, and then from Brandon to Winnipeg, visiting Wal-Marts along the way. Highlights included stopping at Brooks, Alberta for a pic and to continue a family tradition (and visit a Wal-Mart), and our night out in Brandon. In Brandon we decided to go out to Houston's, a country-western bar that was right beside the hotel we were staying at. It was late and we had a big day the next day, so we'd just go in for a couple fizzy ones and hit the sack. Then we met the [View Full Entry]

Here are some shots from our drive back east. We stopped at the location of The Last Spike, something we had read about in history. We also drove throughout most of the day and early evening. The moon was out, the snow was on the road, and we were heading home! It was a great trip, but we were both looking forward to seeing everyone at home again. [View Full Entry]

The end of the week in Vancouver brought us some more work and visitors! Emily and her two of her housemates, Mel and Jordana, decided to take a weekend vacation from their busy Toronto lives to Vancouver. They planned to meet up with us in Vancouver. Geoff and I were both excited about having a few party animals around ot hang out with and although we were working most nights of the weekend at UBC, we had a lot of free time that we would be able to spend with the crew. Alas, it was not meant to be, because something [View Full Entry]

some of the hard work includes doing the activations. in vancouver there was three events at UBC where we ran the Shave Lab... the Great Trek Run was on Thursday, the football game was on Friday, and the basketball game was on Saturday. Emily and her friends came for the weekend, and another job popped up on us from geoff's company, so we really had our hands full. friday, saturday, and sunday had us working all of the daylight hours and playing most of the remaining hours. it didn't leave much time for sleeping! Here's a quick one about my trip to UBC and also our trip to Science World and Granville. I admit there are some gaps in the photo part of this photo diary.. I'll try to fill in the gaps. [View Full Entry]

we're goofballs sometimes. i would say geoff is more of a goofball than myself, but Geoff may disagree.
It has been a while; I apologise to those who have been checking up on us often. Our time in Vancouver was very busy and did not afford me the time necessary to update this blog. But now we are back on the road and I am finally able to get some more done! We pulled into Vancouver on Friday night, stored the trailer in Burnaby. We checked into the Carmana Plaza just off of Robson street in downtown Vancouver and got ready for our 9 day stay in Vancouver. Saturday had Geoff working and myself at leisure. Geoff was supervising [View Full Entry]

i'm just happy we're not here in the winter... it was a great drive!
Geoff and I were really excited to see the lights of Vancouver. It seems like we've been on the road for a while, and Vancouver is pretty much our final destination. after this it's homeward bound... we've got a lot to do before then! we've got five events and market rides in vancouver, and one market ride at whistler. We've also got to do a lot around vancouver just for fun. the drive was straightforward, and it was interesting to find ourselves on relatively even ground after three days in the mountains. we hit some nasty traffic coming into surrey... that [View Full Entry]

there were lots of bridges. we took pictures of them.
After struggling to wake up from a nasty late-night chinese food hangover (we ate chinese food from a place called Mannings in revelstoke... good idea? that's for you to decide), we hit the road for kelowna. It wasn't going to be a long trip, but we were eager to get into town because we had heard good things. we also had to try to fit in as much as possible because we were originally scheduled for a longer stay (and a day off) in kelowna but that wasn't possible because of the dead batteries in the truck. It was a rainy [View Full Entry]
