Apart from that its really nice. Our last entry was from Antigua where before our departure we studied more spanish and climbed another volcano. This one had lava that you could fall into. We toasted marshmallows. Well I say toast we made marshmallows combust into a ball of flame http://www.travelblog.org/Central-America-Caribbean/Honduras/San-Pedro-Sula/blog-238559.html Big fire spitting volcanoes and stuff Firstly HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL we hope you all had a great one we spent the christmas period at a hippy ecolodge type thing in the mountains above Antigua hence the absence of phone calls on the day.So here we are in Antigua Guatemala for a month trying to learn a bit of spanish but especially on my part failing quite miserably. I think i'm gonna have to leave the spanish to Jenny who http://www.travelblog.org/Central-America-Caribbean/Guatemala/Antigua/Antigua/blog-230571.html Crossing into Guatemala and onto Lago Atitlan After visiting the ruins at Palenque we headed back down to San Cristobal for a night and headed out of mexico destination Guatemala. We caught the bus from San Cristobal to Ciudad Cuauhtemoc and across the border into Guatemala. This was a surprisingly informal affair that took place in the middle of a busy market it would have been incredibly easy to just stroll on through. After having our p http://www.travelblog.org/Central-America-Caribbean/Guatemala/Lago-de-Atitlan/Santa-Cruz-La-Laguna/blog-225121.html San Cristobal and Palenque After taking it easy in Puerto Escondido for a few days we headed north to San Cristobal de las Casas which is a beautiful mexican mountain town surrounded by some incredible indigenous mayan villages. From San Cristobal we hired a car with the intention of heading north to the Palenque ruins for a night returning on the next day. As we attempted to find one of the villages we got completely lost http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Chiapas/San-Cristobal-de-las-Casas/blog-224932.html Acapulco to Puerto Escondido After Taxco we headed down to Acapulco for some Loco beach action and dancing chicas. Not. It was a hellhole so we crashed for the night in a cheap part of town and headed straight out east to Puerto Escondido.Puerto Escondido is a nice little beach town that is famous for its surf beach. We stayed at a cool little hostel and met some great people one of which managed to recover our photos fro http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Oaxaca/Puerto-Escondido/blog-224926.html Taxco From Mexico City we headed south to Taxco. It was really nice to get out of the city. We left the cloud of smog that engulfs the whole valley and the sun came out. Its strange the weather forecast for Mexico City says sunny but you cant actually see the sun.Taxco was nice. But expensive. So we only spent one night. One massive bonus with taxco was the sheer number of aircooled vws clogging the http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Guerrero/Taxco/blog-224918.html Meheeeko city and Teotihuacan After the Big Apple we flew down to Mexico City on the 19th november. Again apologies for the late updates but as I hurriedly mentioned in the previous post we have been having a bit of a mare with our photos and trouble getting the internet to work. Mexico city is a huge dirty city with a bit of a traffic problem. We were told that 18 million people live there and that 30 of the population a http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Estado-de-Mexico/Teotihuac-n/blog-224909.html New York a bit late Hi all Firstly apologies for the delay in out entries.
