We left Koh Tao early afternoon on a catamaran and arrived in Champon and after a three hour journey and a five hour bus journey we arrived in Hua Hin hot and tired. Luckily we managed to find a guesthouse that was still open and got ourselves a room with yet another hot shower air con and satellite TV for £9 - result!! We were up early and decided to have a sausage and egg mcmuffin (That’s the third Maccy D’s of the trip - Again - Farang!) and set about finding how on earth we get to Kanchanaburi without going [View Full Entry]

We arrived in Koh Tao quite sad leaving Koh Phan-gan and to have left the friends we made but as it’s reputed to be the best diving/snorkelling in Thailand we gave Koh Tao a go and it got us closer to the mainland. On arrival there we really struggled to find a room and unless your diving it’s pretty pricey, so, in the end we decided to book ourselves into a gorgeous place for the night and then make our move over to the mainland the next day. Sensi paradise was beautiful and our room was total luxury - air conditioning [View Full Entry]

Bye bye - we had such a fun time!
On the boat to Koh Tao
Arriving in Koh Tao

The day started off pretty early on a very posh but very very full speed boat. It was the most expensive trip we have been on so far and possibly the worst but we still had a good day. The first bay we pulled in to snorkel at was absolutely packed with about 10 boats and lots of snorkellers, as our boat reversed the motors went straight into the face of a japanese lady who was in the sea, it was not a pretty sight and slightly un-nerving! The snorkelling was ok but i made a hasty retreat to the boat [View Full Entry]

After a few days recovering from the full moon party it was time for Thai New year - Songkran! We were very lucky that we were staying with a brilliant Thai/Australian family at Phangan Rainbow and so we got to ride around in team shirts on the back of the truck throwing water at people like five year olds. The day started quite seriously when Noi took us to meet her grandma who is 92 and we each poured water into her bowl and she gave us an individual blessing. After this the whole day turned into mayhem and it was [View Full Entry]

Our home on Koh Phan-gan
So much fun!
Tel in his nemo get up!

We arrived in Trang and decided it was a bit quiet and there wasn't that much to do, so, we looked at our options and decided we weren't ready to go straight to Bangkok and decided to get a minibus to Surat Thani and then get the night boat over to the backpacker legend that is Koh Phangan. It wasn't on top of our places to go list but we decided we really should pop in and have a look! The night boat left at 11pm and arrived in Koh Phangan at 6am. The boat was pretty cool with sleeping mats [View Full Entry]

So yet another boat and we were in Penang (Again!) This time we stayed at a really sweet hotel where we seemed to be the only guests and set about taking advantage of the pool while we waited for Jim to do our visa’s for us! Jim was an absolute legend, Tel took him our passports on the Sunday morning and by Tuesday afternoon we had our lovely 60 Thai visa’s in our sweaty little palms and it only cost us £4! As luck would have it the races were on in Penang on the Sunday so we had a wicked [View Full Entry]

Gorgeous track
Tel in his element!

After an hours speedboat ride we arrived on the most amazing little Thai island where the sand was white and the sea was stunning. We stayed in an amazing place in the middle of the jungle on this small but beautiful island. Unfortunately the bugs liked Josef way too much and gave him a fair bit of grief but he dealt with it well and loved living in the jungle bless him! We had so much fun building sandcastles and tel and J even saw nemo’s one day! We pretty much spent the week lying on the beach and trying [View Full Entry]

Langkawi Reunion Asia » Malaysia » Langkawi
So, we arrived in Langkawi a day before our house was ready but luckily our hosts Marc and Di let us stay in their spare room for the night! We were all ready to watch the Spurs Man U final when we learned of the awful break in at the Brewery. We were both pretty devastated by the news and relieved at the same time that no one was hurt and that Barclay was safe! My beautiful engagement ring - Gone!! In the end we drank far too many medicinal jack Daniels and totally missed the final, although I think Tel [View Full Entry]

J's first night in Laysia
Laxin in Laysia

Hi!! Apologies for the very long delay!! We have had a few weeks away from a computer! We left penang on a very posh bus that had lazy boy type reclining seats which were enormous, unfortunately, half an hour into the journey the bus broke (malay for we need to fit more people on!) and were given an ordinary bus, which we wouldn't have minded had we not seen the rolls royce of buses already!! Anyway, eight long hours and we reached kota bahru where we checked into a motel mentioned in the lonely planet (future advice for anyone travelling, never [View Full Entry]

So, we have spent a few days in KK at museums and just wandering about malls etc and getting a much needed massage and a haircut!!!!!!
