Victoria May 2013

I39ve listed this under Victoria as we sort of travelled around rather than stayed in any one place. We initially went to visit family but threw in some great history and nature along the way.We flew into Tullamarine airport hired a car and drove out to Daylesford 1.5hr north to visit my hubby39s father. Daylesford is a lovely little town known as the 39spa capital of australia39.

The Margaret River region is 300km south of Perth and abundant with wineries. Approximately 10 years ago we visited a lot prekids and you could enjoy wine sampling at hundreds of wineries have dinner at some fantastic fine dining locations and relax in adult retreats. So....with 2 kids under 5 this did not seem like a good holiday for us or somewhere that we would want to take them. But my th

Bali Jan 2013

We just had the most perfect relaxing enjoyable 5 days in Bali ever This was not a holiday for sightseeing adventure or new experiences. This was a 5 day break before the monotonous routine of work and school got back underway. On a recommendation from a friend we stayed at the Kumula Pantai hotel in Legian. It is a bit hidden away though and is actually behind one of the restaurants along t

We39ve just spent a lovely week up at Moore River for our annual pilgrimage. This year the river had not broken through to the ocean so it was a bit murky and quite full but there were plenty of fish in there for the kids to chase along the shallow banks. The Midgit had a fishing net which worked much better for toddlers attention spans than a 39real39 fishing rod which is what he tried t

After the hectic bustle of Hong Kong we ventured over to one of our favourite destinations for some relaxation... and relaxation is what we had Turns out it takes approximatly 5 days these days for us to get bored of swimming and eatingWe flew directly from HK to Phuket so decided to spend a night at Nai Yang beach which is right beside the airport. The Nai Yang Beach Resort picked us up at a

We decided to try a new destination for us in Malyasia for our Little Mans first overseas trip so off to Penang we went. Travelling with our first baby for the first time to somewhere outside of Australia we also went with what is possibly the biggest most child friendly resort on the island Golden Sands Resort. And it was excellent The hotel and room was very nice and clean and big with so

Australia had decided to play one of its Bledisloe Cup matches in Hong Kong so that was the perfect reason to return to the amazing city and show off my new little boy to one of my bestest friends who lived there. So off we took on our 10 hour flight.... the flight left perth at 10am and it was actually quite successful with our just starting to walk 11 month old. The flight back on the other hand.

The hubby was off to Sydney this time so i figured i39d join him with the Little Man shorly before the Little Miss came along... a bit easier to travel with one child by yourself than two So we flew over on a Thursday in July hoping to do some tourist stuff and catch up with the inlaws. We stayed at Goldsborough Oaks Apartments just a few minutes walk from Darling Habour.
We headed off for a long weekend in Melbourne to enjoy the big Dreamtime Game at the 39G enjoy some great food and catch up with family. The weather for May wasnt that bad...it didnt rain and the temps were about 15 max so not that bad We attempted to go to two Aussie rules games but with a 2.5yo the odds of lasting 3 hours were not good. Friday nights game was the Dreamtime game between Ess

We just had a beautiful long weekend up at Coral Bay. We took the easy way out and flew the 2 hour journey rather than drive the 14 hour roadtrip. We39ve driven up to Coral Bay before and although I love our sunburnt country there is a whole lot of nothing that wont keep toddlers entertained lol I39ll add a photo of the red dirt and scrub that lines the journey...although i did get som

This is a very toddler centric blog. I am nearly embarassed writing it and the fact that we didnt do anything that the exciting tourist destination of Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef should bring with it but we have been here heaps over the years and 39done39 all that you can 39do39 tourist wise so this was a family catch up and a relax and keep the kids happy trip.
Our second trip to Cairns was only 12 months after our initial visit where we had completed a lot of tourist stuff so this trip was more about catching up with family and seeing the city centre.August isnt quite warm enough to go swimming but nice to not wear a jumper most of the time after winter in perth My Dad lives in Trinity beach which is about 15 minutes north of Cairns city and is a lov

YanchepTwo Rocks is a strange place. Im not sure if it is a legend or a ghost town....although at least this trip there were people there. In the 197039s Yanchep was the dream of Alan Bond a self made millionairre and legend to Perth who created a satellite city just out of Perth about 60km. It had a huge marina that staged the Amercia39s Cup yacht race Atlantis marine park similar to

Its always a controvesial topic in Perth...Broome or Bali Perthites who dont like to leave the country generally say that Broome is the best place in the world or those who are mad about Bali go there 2 or 3 times a year and own a villa of some kind. We hadnt been to Broome before so decided to get educated about it all Luckily we had some friends who lived up there but were coming down to Per
