Looks Like Fun! Planning a trip and wanted to include this area in our itinerary.
thanks for helping me w/how to dress when hiking...knew long pants
and thought long sleeve shirt..wasn't sure about boots or tennis shoes.
guess good tennis are best ! looks like a blast!
ahhh So nice to see Nadia here. Can't beleive there's been a reunion.. must admit I am kinda jealous and was certainly a bit nostalgic the week of the 15th. Your place looks way better than the DandD but not sure there could ever be a better owner or better music than at the D and D... never felt more welcomed!
Hi Swills I am going to Peru next month.
I am going with a friend to exlore the country.
I have a few questions. If you can answer please... much appreciated..
First.. Is Peru a safe country..should I be on the lookup or stop being Paranoid?
Second. Is altitude sickness a real probem?
I am glad you enjoyed your trip. I am going for three weeks as well but now I am thinking it is too much time. Maybe I should visit rwo other neigbour countries.. What do you think?
Thanks again..
Luis from Canada..
Want to see the pics Hi Sarah,
Sounds like you had a really great time. I loved reading your blogs and couldn't wait until the next one came. Now I can't wait to see all the pictures. Hope that you have them when you get back to Canada. Will see you then. Love always.

I really enjoyed your post about arriving back in Lima. It really is a great city that gets a bad reputation. My blog is looking for travel photos, reviews, new foods, etc, to share (like maybe for Bembos?!?). If you have the time, check it out at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com, or email us at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com. Enjoy your last day in Peru!
Heather :)
Pisco Have you tried Pisco yet? That is my cat's namesake, of course I think Chilean Pisco is way better... you may hear about the controversy between Chile and Peru about where Pisco originated. It's fun debate
Great Blog! Hi girls,
I am having so much fun reading your blog and reliving my trip to Machu Picchu in 2002. We visited many of the same sites you have been to and had similar experiences with the food, shopping, markets, transportation, etc. I look forward to each new entry!

jealous Hey sarah
Sounds like you are having a great time in my hood! When you get back to Cuzco go to Jack's
it's on Choquechaka and Cuesta San Blas, good food big portions and not too expensive they have the best pancakes !!! You must also hit a local restaurant usually only open for lunch and have chicharrones( the best) or lomo saltado or aji de gallina. If you want a location or name of one let me know and try the cui it is pretty good ! If you need any help in Cuzco let me know, i'll hook you up with my contacts there.

passport Sarah- no worries with the extra fun stamps in passports. I had several in mine. You will also have the oppertunity on the trail to get a stamp... GET IT!! I think you get one when you start and one when you end!
calefont Sarah- I think I may know your problem with the hot water. In Chile nearly every shower has a calefort that you have to light to get the gas hot water flowing. Sometimes this is cotrolled by the hostel owners so you may want to ask if there is such a thing as a calefont (spanish) not sure if these are used in Peru, but worth a try. Buen suerte
chicha You need to try chicha. It's different in nearly every South American country... in Chile it is a very young wine. In Peru it is a beer made from nuts. Try it
Wow Amazing - you guys are really seeing some great stuff - can't wait to see the photos and hear more about it in person.
Enjoy the rest of your trip - have fun and keep safe. Can't wait to see you soon .Love Mom
Areaquipa Ohhh be sure to have an Ariaquipena cervasa para mi! Also be sure to check out the world's older female mummy at the museum in Areaquipa! Keep having all this fun for me!
Sounds fantastic! Wow Sarah sounds like a fantastic trip so far. How cool to see sea lions and penguins. I am looking forward to hearing about sandboarding! Have never heard of that before. Have a great time!
Congrats on the new car Hope everything goes good with the new car. I'm sure it will open the door for a lot of new adventures. Have fun and enjoy yourself. Keep the blogs coming. Love you.

Congrats Congratulations on the new apartment. It sounds great. It also sound like you have some neat new adventures coming in the next few weeks. Hope all goes well. Make sure you tell us all about it. It will be nice to see you when you get back to Canada. Until then all the best.
Love Uncle Wally and Sheila
YAY!!! So many exciting things are happening for you! I'm so glad. School is almost over, and summer is nearly here and you have many wonderful things coming your way. What are you doing in Peru?
Things are starting to get exciting for us too. We're just starting to look for an apartment in Ecuador and making plans for heading down there. As of now we fly out August 11th and start teaching August 20th. I think it's going to be great!!! Anyway, I can't wait to hear about your Peru plans!
It started with a year teaching in Honduras. Then it was home to the COLD winter of Canada to try and pay off some debts, followed by sailing the seas with Norwegian Cruise Lines, working as a youth counsellor.
Next it was back to Honduras, teaching in a school in Tegucigalpa!
Now, I am home in Canada but continue traveling.
Thanks for joining me on my journey!
