What a fantastic weekend. Estelle and I got away for a girls' weekend in Collingwood (Blue Mountain). We stayed at a nice Bed & Breakfast called Pedulla's Mountainside B&B. It was literally mountainside, as the ski hills were right across the street! The woman who owns the B&B (with her husband) was SO helpful! She leant us everything from sunscreen and Tylenol to Snowboarding helmet, wrist guards, and bum pad for Estelle. We drove there Saturday morning and spent Saturday afternoon on the ski hills. It's been a little while since I've posted. Things are going well with my jobs. Yes, I am still working 5 of them. I did stop working youth drop in, but replaced that job with another dance teaching position at Impact Movement Studios Inc. in downtown Kitchener (www.impactmovement.ca). I am the chair dance teacher. Yes, that's right. I teach sexy dance routines on a chair to adults. It's a riot. The ladies are always a hoot, and it's fun, flirty fitness. Well, I have news to share! Firstly, The Great Big Theatre Company. I finally got my cheque in the mail. It was even for the correct amount! We won't be needing to take it to court then. HUGE relief! I did have lunch with a few of the cast members yesterday though. It was so good to see them and chat. Many of you are already aware but the nanny job didn't work out. I just didn't agree with a lot of the ways the parents were raising their children and I didn't feel like I meshed with the family. There were many issues with the behavior of their 4 year old son, and I just wasn't patient enough to deal with things that I thought were inappropriate for a 4 year old but were justified by the parents. So I did it... I bought a car. A woman mom works with has a husband who sells cars. He had one in my price range and so we went lastnight to check it out, took it into our mechanic today to have him check it over and then registered the car, got plates and insurance and I'm now a car owner! Well, it's been awhile since I've written. Travelblog actually had a bit of a crash a little while back, being hit by a virus that wiped out most blogs from the past 3 months. I lost about 18 of mine, however, all but 1 has been recovered so that's good. Life in Canada... little bit of a shocker to come home to. It wasn't even big things that shocked me. Well, I leave in a half hour for the airport. I can't believe it's that time already. Friday night was awesome. Walter's friend Douglas came over to Walt's apartment, we shared some drinks then went to Morgan's bar. I saw Kenny and a bunch of Walter's other friends. Kenny told me he was sad to be losing me. Tonight was my despedida with my students. "Despedida" literally translates in English as "Goodbye" but it's the word they use for their farewell parties. I invited my students over to my house. About half of them came, which was fun. We played hide and seek, danced in the living room, ate baked goods, ordered pizza, and watched the video I made them. It was fun. Well, my pics are all up. Check them out. Weird being back in Honduras. The house feels empty. Nadia and I are the only ones in the compound. It's a little scary... a little lonely. Also feels comforting seeing the sites I'm used to. Almost cried in the taxi yesterday... just felt good to be back to what I am used to. I can only imagine how going home to Canada will feel.
