Staying in a good modern center apartment is much better - cheaper than the hotels ... Why? 1. More personal and more freedom, all home comfort. 2. Hotels are very expensive and mostly with old 'Soviet' equipment, curtains, carpets, beds and lift ... but European / American prices Go on the Internet 'google' and type "rent apartment Chisinau directly from owner" and you will find enough of them. But: Look for good pictures and descriptions for each apartment and ask first 2 or 3 times information by email Look for a good location and most of all on which level it is (a lot of them cheaper but on 4th or 5th level and NO LIFT) Ask at least 30 -45days ahead so you also can book apex air-tickets and thus travel ... read more

As I travelled a few times to Moldova, Chisinau or Kishinev to meet my friend, I find out the following and would like t share it with the international traveller: Private rentals apartments are more popular than staying in hotels here in Chisinau. Arriving in Chisinau Airport. Daniel was waiting to pick me up and he drove me through the Botanica district -boulevard Dacia as I remember- over the bridge directly into the Center district. Turning left and we arrive already at the street Stefan Cel Mare. Only 10 minutes after leaving the airport we stopped in front of tyhe apartment. What a great positif suprise: a colorfull, very clean and cozy place. Nice warm inside although - 20°C ouside ...... I was really lucky to have found this apartment to spend some days with my Moldavian girl friend. I am sure my time will be nice. Hi, Want or need to travel to Chisinau (or Kishinev), capital of Republic of Moldova, ex Sovjet Republic and you need lodging? Renting an apartment is very popular here in Chisinau and much cheaper than quality hotels, easely 3-6 times. You are more flexible, possibility to invite friends, be closer to way of life in Chisinau. A lot of 1 or 2 bedrooms apartments have been the last years redesigned, renovated and / orredecorated to clean and cozy, spacious and colorfull, modern and home feeling places. When searching the internet for apartments (best with google 'rent apartment chisinau center clean cozy"), look good at the desriptions and pictures, ask questions by email (always hot water? what with heating in october - november - april - may? is kitchen ok? modern furniture? ....
