a spot of light in the outback
December 19th Sydney (Bondi) > Woodford (beginning of Blue Mountains) Another lazy internet morning. Heading out to Blue Mountains any minute now, after a spot of second hand shopping in Sydney’s Newtown. This is the eclectic scene of the inner burbs. Trying reminders on my independence and loss of it. Sweet reminders on enjoying the journey rather than just focusing on the destination. Thank you W for your What a day my oh my. All I can say is make sure you read the parking signs very clearly. Short of it all for me was $175 ‘stopped in a clearway zone’+ [View Full Entry]

I have left... *sigh* I've just realised that amongst all my ramblings herein, I haven't really described the atmosphere and the energy of the people.. but really it is quite unsummable. I would not be doing anyone any favours with attempts to categorise and describe the natures.... Suffice to say there are symbols in the woods, that epitomise the community environment and living lands... <see picture> Definitely the 'Rainbow Region'. Letterboxes from huge old-fashioned metal milk jugs congregate at the end of long dusty driveways and long, vertical coloured flags hang in t [View Full Entry]

The Quarry - full moon celebration of Mother Earth and all she has to offer. Beautiful sounds, gorgeous people with fairy wings and goddess tails - what an environment, a regeneration of an old quarry. A nice way to part with this sacred land. December 16th -17th Festival of the Sun at Port Macquarie. www.fotsun.com.au Not what I hoped. Pretty much a ‘community’ of blokes & chicks hanging around getting pissed - and me volunteering to collect their trash. Commercial tunes, and I use the term loosely. OK different strokes for different folks sure, but the incited an [View Full Entry]

Mullumbimby > Suffolk Park & Soul Intelligence So many reasons why this travel blog seems intermittent. Of course I’m having lots to say each day, so much…. But finding a portal for my laptop isn’t as easy as I’d hoped… and then there’s moments like this where the hum and glow of my laptop and it’s screen in my cosy mobile home sends me into la-la land within a few minutes. So much to document and share but finding the time/making this priority is difficult….. December 14th Broken Head - Seven Mile Beach Loving hanging out [View Full Entry]

The Channon > Protestor Falls Market time! This is the big one and I’ve looked forward to it since before I came! So many stalls with so much cool stuff and so many gorgeous people and so much grooving to the drumming! I put it out there for an invitation, and it came. Connected with J, I love spontaneity - how can I ever go back to four walls and a specific timetable? Beyond the darkness, we walked to the top of Protestor Falls, stopping to admire the communities of glow worms, bugs and funghi here and there - amazing creatures. [View Full Entry]

AUM meditation! I made a new friend today :) She’s pretty out there… K, you’re amazing! We are learning together already. Meditation was Magnificent. I had doubted it would be with fewer numbers as this one is an interactive experience, but it was great! Awareness Understanding Meditation has to be experienced really… but not for the faint hearted, it’ll really bring you out, if you let it. A 2 day workshop in 2 ½ hours, expressing and experiencing 12 stages of emotion and all the polarities therein. Loving, hating, laughing, crying, dancing, silence, freaking [View Full Entry]

December 9th Protestor Falls (Nightcap National Park) > Rocky Dam Creek > Minyon Falls > Tyagarah What a storm last night - Lightning was only a km or two away! Torrential rain surrounding me and therefore no access to anything under my bed, including paper to document my thoughts… Pondering existence and existentialism in my van was tough. But I came through. Always slow to get moving the morning after though… Did I mention my invention of a camera that could capture smell? The warm green scent of a rainforest is something to be experienced…wish I c [View Full Entry]

Nimbin & Nightcap National Park Nerves. Clench. Anxiety. To begin all over again - does it ever get any easier? I remember this when in India - spending hours planning what to do and then hours looking for the perfect camping spot. All about feeling lost or conversely, feeling at home wherever I go. Something about me and country no through roads. My being must follow them to the end, just to see where they are no through to… Looking for tonight’s camping place, up to Mt Nardi and back, around the main street and around again. Outside a caravan park, [View Full Entry]

Awareness Intensive Retreat @ Samaya (Rosebank) I’m speechless, and still. All is so still. Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree… frogs on all paths and wallabies waller by…“What is true?” we ask ourselves, to each other. Intellectual introspective. An unfolding, a journey ensues. Silence follows. Stubborness, boredom, tears of laughter - at them, with them, tears of depth, sadness, loneliness, “What can I accept?”. Revelations. Face to face I see myself and the other. “What is my heart’s desire?”. Profundity, [View Full Entry]

Byron Bay > Coorabel lookout I made a little blue wren friend this morning :) For an hour he circled me as together we enjoyed the sweet soft tunes of Chamras Saewataporn. Now it rains again….on and on for the past few days since I arrived in the shire. And not one rainbow seen in the region yet …Found my car keys! And it clears :) Full tummy of yummy breakfast and again I am reminded how it is all in the mind. I have my keys, I have my health, I have myself and I need not let stuff overwhelm [View Full Entry]
