9.25am Tsunami alert from Cairns to Cooktown.. that includes Port Douglas. An earthquake measuring 8.1 on the rector scale sends shock waves al the way from the Solomon Islands to Far north Queensland. I didn’t buy into the impending fear at all…at first. In true spirit of the commercial media, the sensationalism grew by the minute… and still I was cruising around not even believing we’d see a ripple out this way. But, five minutes before the event was supposed to effect our shores in the Port, I thought, hmm… perhaps it’d be better to be safe than sor [View Full Entry]

Who would have thought?! It’s incredible! All this fruit feasting - I am so addicted to rollinia - and I am definitely losing inches. I suspect it’s the coconut flesh I’ve been enjoying… as I remember the effect of the cold pressed of course oil on Luke during one of his own fetish eras. After a couple weeks of coconut oil with everything, he’d lost a couple kilos at least - and he doesn’t have much to lose! I feel the same deal, with fresh milky flesh for breakfast each morn. I’m sure my new regime of push-ups (girlie-style) and lunges [View Full Entry]

endless? Oceania » Australia » Queensland » Port Douglas
What rights? Stuck. Between potential hard slog for $17per/hr & nowhere. Lost, sitting in the car… Reminding me of when I ran away from home as a teen when in upset… Couldn’t go home - suck in upset. Couldn’t go elsewhere - what elsewhere? Sitting in the van, outside a school… begging for fresh air and a firm bed for a good night’s rest. But no choice but stuffy metal cage and Clark’s well used rubber foam job. We are so over it. Ample opportunity but how much do we wish to settle for? Are we worth more than $17 per [View Full Entry]

The Siege Oceania » Australia » Queensland » Cairns
What began as an overnight stay to take care of some brief business, turned out to be a full day’s hostage-siege situation at the local MP’s Office. Complete with 2 ambulances on stand-by, several police patrol cars (to serve & protect us with all their power, of course), the full SWAT (Serious Wanking Armed Terrorists?) team and news reporters in tow. Word out was that a disgruntled member of the public (probably more sane than the cops out to get him) was in the MP’s office with a gun. All apparently ended peacefully - if you call hand cuffs and [View Full Entry]

For the sake of FREE food, have we stooped too low? Bordering on rotten, non-organic but FREE! We have become the raw food equivalent of dumpster-divers! Surreptitiously hanging around till the way-over Rusty’s markets vendors deal with their left-overs. You would be sickened to see the extreme waste of produce that is disposed of after the week’s market period. (Thurs-Sun). We still have some dignity left I’ll have you know… we politely ask at the stalls rather than go head first into the mounds of sloppy compost. We’ve also made friends with the super-cool [View Full Entry]

Walking through a spiritual book store in town today, I found myself quite excitedly overwhelmed with the urge to be creative! I’m feeling exceptionally inspired by images and books and people… and totally loving my enlivened senses and desire to express my truest creative soul! *sing* “Oh what a wonderful feeeee-ling!!” It’s almost as if I can’t wait to get settled in our new home and create my little creation space to do magical marvellous creative things that I’ve always wanted to but never made the time for. This IS the time! Or rather it can [View Full Entry]

durian fever Oceania » Australia » Queensland » Daintree
Absolutely hilarious! We’ve gone from desperately, desperately seeking durian, and having been told there were none available in these parts (catastrophically disappointed - our main reason for venturing into these particular parts was following a lead on fresh local durian - once you’ve tasted the divine you’ll understand); to buying the apparent last deluxe baby from a local farm and thinking okaaay that’s it (and it was pretty lush indeed), to… wandering the local lands nearby and before our very eyes what did we find?! It’s! - No… it can’t [View Full Entry]

Luke's bliss kiss

7.30pm I am introduced to ‘The Mother’, Ayahuasca. 8.30pm I am introduced to her close ally, Psychotria, by a thimble’s concoction. I immediately knew, that after 11 days of next to nothing going down my oesophagus, this certainly wasn’t going to go down well, let alone stay down. This has got to be THE most <indescribably> abhorrent, tasting concoction I can ever imagine. Really. @ 8.45pm I was re-introduced to Psychotria, in a less lady-like manner. Embarrassment and immense disappointment exacerbate my already antagonistic attitude (lack of eating + [View Full Entry]

internally insane Oceania » Australia » Queensland » Mossman
March 14th Day 7 Cairns to Mossman Luke is my hero. He climbed a coconut tree for lots of treasure - awesome stuff. I admit I am getting greedy with these coconuts now! It’s cos they’re just so damn good! And they’re healing and all! Makes me juice diet/fast a whole lot more pleasurable with those to look forward to  Shame is that Luke has to be the one to do all that hard work - the things he does for me and my health, he’s pretty amazing. But he loves it. Don’t you Lukey?  So picture this: We’re [View Full Entry]

title schmytle Oceania » Australia » Queensland » Mossman
Day 10 I’ve never felt such furious, crimson, hateful, spiteful, deep-seated, self-righteous, unsexy, uninspired, unfounded anger as I have this past week. If you’ve even the slightest predisposition or tendency to anger in your bones (or even any emotional imbalance for that matter) I share with you my strongest recommendation to NOT participate in any detoxing of one’s liver in the presence of any potentially antagonising, triggering, disturbing, discomfort. You would be doing your soul and self an immense disservice should you underestimate my words of warning. Nobody sh [View Full Entry]
