Prague - From: Czech this out
My husband & I have worked for 6 to 8 months for 4 years in Prague but are home this year. You have taken the BEST photos of Prague we have ever seen. Your photographic skills are of the first order (and you must have a really great camera too. What is it?) Thanks for a wonderful wonderful set of photos. You have made us so homesick this morning! Egypt glorious Egypt - From: The ancient temples of Luxor and Karnak
Anyone travelling to have a taste of Egypt, be it temples, tombs, new sensations or adventures would not be disappointed with Luxor - it would oblige the traveller readily as your pictures testify - great pictures which tell many stories... how parts of the world have barely changed , people still dress in their traditional dress , they follow their customs and traditions , live simply and some skilfully fleece you . Anyway mate, I would like to give the butcher and all that dead flesh a miss .. gruesome :-(

Hey Steffen! Such a beautiful photos of pyramids! I even have some kind imagination afterwards that I have visited them once, but I haven't. Especially I like calm and careless expression of camel, it was really posing for your shot :) Why don't you take part in some photocontest? I would be fan of your pictures! ;) I also have read your description of pyramids - a lot of useful info. Good job! P.S. I am going soon to Azerbaijan and maybe will organise my profile too, when I will get some free time. Best wishes from Kiev

Food Glorious Food ! - From: Backwaters
Great pictures !! especially the one of the delicious food which is a typical south Indian meal. What you were drinking from the coconut was the coconut water . Coconut milk is actually the liquid that is squeezed out of the coconut kernel( the white flesh of the coconut) and is usually used in cooking--it is not particularly nice to drink. The coconut you're holding appears to be young which means the flesh would have been very tender and jellylike-- yummy. Well Steffen what with lessons in zoology and culinary, your expertise in these two fields is going to grow and know no bounds, your photograpic genius is streaks ahead though !!!!! :o)

Detailed insights into the Capital of Belgium - From: Brussels
Nice photos of the Capital of Belgium - very interesting combination of historic buildings and modern architecture - great picture of the Atomium in the driving mirror! Where is the picture of Manneken Piss ? - I am missing it! I visited Brussels once by taking the EuroStar from London to Brussels which was quite an interesting journey to a nice city. I had the chance to visit the once-a-year antique market of Brussels with hundreds of lights illuminating the city - lovely. Belgium chocolate: A real temptation (even on the picture!) with no possibility to resist - just great, loving it!

Fabulous Pictures with subtitles! - From: Taj Mahal
Just an observation: your pictures tend to have subtitles- excellent touch ! makes the pictures all the more interesting to look at. The Taj Mahal is beautiful monument is quite an awesome sight to behold as it does not come into full view till the very last moment as you approach through the archway - quite breathtaking. Seeing such beautiful symbolic buildings should be enjoyed in good company as I did - always wanted to see the Taj Mahal and it sure lived up to its hype and drama. I dare anyone not to be moved by its sight! Hey you seem to have a penchant for white knuckle rides... sitting on railway tracks with an oncoming train ?? how does that compare on the stressometer with your bus ride in Valparaiso ?

Wild and Rugged - From: Gower Peninsula and Caerphilly Castle
...and the photos too.....just sums up the beauty of Wales. Caerphilly Castle against the dark sky looks magnificent. My favourite pic is the coastal path as it reminds me of the many coastal paths I have treaded in the UK- brings some lovely memories for me of running along for miles. Many a time completely taken over by the solitude ,tranquility and beauty that I had gone too far one way to return on foot and had to resort to begging a lift back to where I was staying :-) The National Trust, a registered charity, do a great job in caring, managing and protecting special places, including coastal paths, in the UK and rely on the generosity of its supporters, of which I am proud to be one - membership gives free or a concessionary rate to admission to properties cared for by the National Trust, a beautiful members' handbook and magazines . Tuesday 9 May marked the 50th anniversary of the Gower Peninsula, Swansea, becoming the first ever area in England and Wales to be designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' (AONB).. which you have certainly captured with your camera.

Your pictures are one of the best I have seen on Travelblog - always interesting with creative slants to them, for example"Frescos and Fresh Underwear" reflects the wit of the photographer. The sunset picture scores for me as I do love sunsets and I have been very privileged to have experienced some spectacular sunset moments when I travelled in India a few months ago. Blog is succinct and informative - keep 'em coming!

Beautiful - From: Krakow
Gorgeous pictures and you would make a good tour guide the way you meticulosly and methodically describe places. Love flea markets -the most obscure things that people will sell usually brings a smile to my face. Once in France at a flea market an elderly lady was selling worn out toothbrushes!! I think she was having a laugh ,don't you?? however, she looked dead serious about her wares but hey! who was I to argue ..she must have been confident in shifting that stuff otherwise she wouldn't be there, or would she?! bless her

Memorial - From: Auschwitz
It takes a very brave soul to handle a visit to Auschwitz. It is an extremely harrowing experience . It makes grim reading and the gruesome pictures make my hair stand on ends. Your feature reminds us of the uselessness, the waste of wars but keeps the memory of the dead alive and remembers their grieving friends and families. “Non-violence is not a cloistered virtue to be practiced by the individual for peace and final salvation, But is a rule of conduct for society, if it is to live consistently with human dignity and make progress towards the attainment of peace for which it has been yearning for ages past”…. “Stay Duned” ...witty! - From: Sinai Mountains and Saint Catherine's Monastery
You have scored top marks for the pictures again, great stuff. I especially like the picture of the looooong TRAFFIC FREE! desert road (Sinai). Believe me after living in a crowded city it makes me appreciate the Sinai road. I can imagine myself putting my foot to the floor and hammering down there on my bike or the car. Isn't it fascinating to find a monastery in the middle of a desert and even more fascinating that the monastery represents such a congruity of the three religions which often are at conflict with each other even to this day. Within the monastery walls there is the The Fatimid Mosque- the Muslim and Christian sacred domains sitting comfortably with each other, wow fancy that ! Your pictures show the colours of the desert terrain really well—stark they may look, but there is a beauty about the starkness and desolation of such a hostile environment. Writing about your personal experiences and thoughts makes it so much more interesting for me as a reader.

Interesting and useful information to be gleaned- an enjoyable read .

Fava bean dip. - From: Diving in Dahab
Beautiful shot of the town with the mountains taken from the sea. You're right, the bean dip doesn't look appetizing, but it looks like the Mexican refried bean dip and it does taste quite delicious. It in turn looks a lot like our Hawaiian Poi, which is actually sour in taste, so I kind of expect a sour taste when I eat it, but it's completely different.

Great photos. Always wondered what this large mass of mysterious land looks like. One doesn't get to read or see much of it in most books. Wished I could rate your photos, but the rating system seems to be down. In spite of being desert, it's still quite beautiful.

beautiful pictures and a very good write-up - From: Chile
It is interesting to read the different modes of transport you seem to use to visit the various places, this is often not revealed in other blogs that I read. Highlighting the various landmarks in your blog makes it easy to read and useful as reference points. The picture shows the driver clutching the rail tightly, so how fast is the driver going if he needs to be hanging on? Therefore may I ask how many survive the " racing bus"??!?....
