This is the best thing on your blog so far. You should try to make it to a wealthier place, where people don't use animals for currency. If he had offered Jan some gold, maybe it would have been a better deal. But then again, so would have been an offer of fluffy puppies!

Goats!
Your experiences are like going back in time! It seems you are going places where time has stood still and people's personalities can come to the forefront.

Happy Hosts
Hi Jan and Sarah, Boy, you two get around! You have had such wonderful hosts! I guess I shouldn't be so gumpy the next time Daddy's relatives want to stay! What lovely people you have met, and you are getting an interesting view of the world. Any turquoise water around? Love, Momma

A true travel commentary
Hi Sarah and Jan, I enjoy all the details you include in your blog. Since we can't be there to see, we love hearing about it and sort of match it or not to our preconceived notions of Budapest. Is there a city called Pest? Or is that short for Budapest? What is the art like there? I picture "abstract" with very strong, bright colors. How do people dress, is the soviet drabness still there? Cathy
