It was our second day and we were ready to try out the restaurants and explore the quiet village. There is no early bird in Sicilly. Restaurants do not generally open until 8:30pm and there is a big siesta during the day. Nice life. We chose this village thinking there might be ancestors still in the village of Piraino. The pizza was delicious. Of course dining was one of my favorite things about the trip! [View Full Entry]

We arrived with good hopes. As I was stepping on board our transfer flight from Milan, I received a call for a job interview to be held when I got back. The weather was perfect the whole time and after a nearly fruitless search, we found the bed and breakfast which overlooked the ocean. We stayed in a small village of Piraino! [View Full Entry]

We took a trip with my parents to Strasbourg. It seems to be the go to place to take people from out of town. This time we were able to find a good restaurant. The weather was unbelievable the entire time my parents were here. [View Full Entry]

It was the day after the wedding and we decided to slip off to somewhere quiet where we could eat at a restaurant and stay at a bed and breakfast. My suggestion, Schwetzingen, was a lot closer than I realized. It is about 15 kilometers from Mannheim. It was still nice to see. Little did I know that I would be spending lunch breaks here as I got a job right next to the castle! Click on entry to see photos. [View Full Entry]

It couldn't have been better weather for an April wedding in Germany. Lots of sunshine, great food, and a bride and groom dressed to impress! We had our ceremony at the Maratim Hotel in Mannheim and the party at the Rhein Terressa right on the Rhein river very close to our apartment. Not only were we blessed with a great wedding but also with so many wonderful guests. Being so far away from home, I was extremely lucky to have my parents, a few local friends, and my old pal Jamie from Natick. All photos in this entry are taken by [View Full Entry]

Not only am I thrilled with our new apartment, I am very excited about the park 5 minutes away. Directly on the Rhein River, this quiet park features bike trails, horse trails, walking trails, and in the summer, an outdoor beer garden. We came down here for New Years Eve and watched people light off fireworks. [View Full Entry]

Not hard to make but very time consuming and not something you can leave on the stove to cook itself.

I took future nephew to the Middle Ages festival as he is into all things Knight related. Needless to say, it pretty much was full of families and people that act like Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons! [View Full Entry]
