Last weekend I planned a little Andalucia tour for 5 days. I had one day off and I took one day off. Who´s counting anyways? But Andalucia is the region in the south of Spain. I was so interested in travelling there because it has an especially interesting history because it is the area that the Moors, the Muslim empire, lived in until 1492 when the Catholic kings, Ferdinand and Isabella kicked them out /conquered them and took their land and then proceeded to kick out all the remaining Muslims and Jews while they were at it. Sorry I have not blogged in a while but, I have been so crazy busy, but in a good way, I just never have access to internet for extended periods of time. So, the title of this entry is just highlighting my past weekend when I travelled with my program to Figueres, Girona and Costa Brava. Last Friday before I went on the trip, my friend and I explored some of the bars in our neighborhood and they were really cool. My neighborhood is very like young hipster/bohemain dirty hippies with lots of dogs. So, the plaza in the middle of the neighborhood has just tons of people sitting around and hanging out and there are also a lot of dogs. The title of this blog was because I heard this guy who kept saying mega mega,to mean cool, cool. And I thought it was appropriate because everything about London is kind of mega, in good and bad ways. Last week in Barcelona was pretty slow, just recovering from the weekend prior. So, this past weekend was the festival of Barcelona´s patron saint, La Merce. It was absolutely crazy. It was basically a four day long celebration with tons of parades, fireworks, and about a million and one concerts of all different types of musicians. The city was so absolutely jam packed, there was barely any room to breathe. On Thursday I went, with my group, to the Magic Fountains which are right in front of the Palace, which used to house the king and queen.
