We are so excited about you coming home. Hi Amanda, always enjoy reading about your excursions, what a life. Everyone doing fine here at home. Your mom came by for a few minutes a couple days ago, she is one busy lady between Hood Canal and home. Haven't seen your sisters but hear they are busy also. Kelly seems to love living in Denver, and Rachel getting her own apartment and staying in Monmouth, she loves being independent.
Summer going fast, won't be long and we will be heading South. Do hope we can see you before we leave as I understand you are arriving home sometime towards end of October. Take care, hugs and love to you. Grandma
Very interesting! I would like to visit Cuenca next year and teach English! I have some ESL experience. Keep us informed as to your experiences. Thanks.
Great story Thanks for sharing Amanda and it sounds like you are having a very interesting time. Take care of yourself and keep the blogs coming!
Cheers
Paul
We should make a movie out of your trip to Ecuador. haha I have never laughed so hard manda. BTW I don't think it's a good idea to crawl under barbwire fences in a third world country. I know you wanted a good swimming hole but come on!! Also when dad and I come I will bring you some instant coffee. That way if you travel all you need is hot water. P.s your roommate looks very nice. Can't wait to meet her. Skype ya soon:):)

What an adventure! Hi Amanda, I talked to your Aunt Sue today and found out about your travels and blog. What a great adventure for you. I can hardly wait to hear about your school you will be working at. Be safe and keep the photos and blogs coming.
Doesn't sound legit. Super nice looking place, convenient location/living situation, and dirt cheap? It's haunted. Or some sort of mythological beast comes every full moon and eats residents. I don't know, it sounds too good. Umm... not to sound negative or anything. I hope it works like it looks like it will and I wish you luck!
Thank you!! Hi Amanda! This cracks me up. You are darn right....I will hunt you down! I am going to thoroughly enjoy hearing all of your tales! Keep up the good work!
Hi sis I am back in the grove I tryed to skpe last night, but found out I have no mic. I will wait untill Jamie gets home to help your poor old mother.
Love you
dork You are so silly. It looks so beautiful!! I can't wait to come and visit you. Next time keep the shampoo away from the garbage can. haha So have you seen your apartment yet? Upload pictures asap please.
Love you

People in Cuenca So, I don't know if I can answer this 100% correctly yet, but this is what I have picked up. If I ever approach anybody or try to talk to them in my terrible Spanish, they will try to help and try to talk to me. However, if I do not approach them, then they will not even acknowledge that I am there. It is actually kind of strange. If I look at someone when I am walking down the sidewalk for example, they will turn their head really fast if they were looking at me. If I smile, most people will smile back. It is not anything like Korea. People do not take my picture or try to talk to me in English. I think that once I feel more confident with my Spanish, and I am more willing to talk to random people, my experiences with the people of Cuenca will be great.
great photos! Amanda
This city looks so interesting! How do you find the people to be for the most part? Are they friendly, indifferent or are they scary? Seems by the way they are always keeping things clean and my looking at these photos it seems like they might all be very good and respectful people. I am hoping you feel safe there. Duly noted on the trash can thing, that is the way it is in Korea as well. I think that is disgusting and I have never followed that practice in my own house, but all the shoe factories do so I am fully aware of that mess... Nasty!!! Wait until it gets really hot, then it is even worse!! Take care!!
Cheers

Yeah, what a pain! I cannot beleive it took so long. I was so tired. However, I look forward to all of the new challenges and frustrations. ha ha. I will probably contact you for traveler's therapy. ha ha. Love you, talk to you soon.
You are the sweetest! It is good to hear from you! I think I will have fun too, I am just not used to updating my life online. Ask anybody, I am the worst at facebook. However, it is really fun to put the pictures up. Talk to you soon.
Cool story! Amanda, great story, fun to read and I am very glad you made it down to your new town successfully. I hope you have good luck finding a nice place to live and remember to be patient, some things are going to take longer then you think they should.
Take care of yourself
Paul

Good luck! Good luck Amanda! I am sure you will get packed and I am sure you will have a great time. Are you going down there by yourself or are you going with someone (maybe a man?). Enjoy! Should be a great adventure!
