New years eve was fantastic…13 of us headed into the city, suited and booted. We had booked an all inclusive dinner and dancing package overlooking Darling Harbour. The venue; La’Aqua was perfect, they filled and continued to fill our glasses with champagne all evening, with a gourmet 4 course meal and the best views of the fireworks. I remember the 9pm fireworks…by 12pm things get a little hazy so lets just say, we drank, danced, drank a lot more and finally arrived home at an ungodly hour the following morning! I don't even remember meeting Irene from Home and Away! A [View Full Entry]

Taronga Zoo Oceania » Australia » New South Wales » Sydney
All of us girls took a trip on the ferry over to the Northshore, past the Opera House and Bridge to visit the animals at the famous Taronga Zoo. The Asian Elephants, giraffes and gorillas were the best! We got some cute photos of Koalas and met face to face with huge pythons, spiders and other killer creepy crawlies. I’ve decided I want an elephant as a pet…only a little one…what do you think!?? xx Shaz [View Full Entry]

Mark and I took Missy and Amanda on a bush walk to one of my favourite beaches near us. It’s a secluded part of the Royal National Park so access is restricted to foot. We trekked down the hills through the bushland and came out onto a wonderful view on the very top of a cliff overlooking the coastline. Once we made it down to the Garie beach we had a well earned rest, and sunbathed before continuing round climbing over rocks and more of the cliff…2 hours later we saw civilisation! Ha! We were so relieved to see a tuck [View Full Entry]

A day at the Races Oceania » Australia » New South Wales » Sydney » Randwick
We all got dressed up, hats included and did a trip to Royal Randwick Racecourse to place a few bets, see if our luck was in and spend a day in the sun. I loved getting dressed up, everyone there looked stunning. We placed bets on most races throughout the day, winning was such a great rush...loosing not so much! We carried on to have dinner at one of my favourite pubs in Como by the water with beautiful views of the boat harbour. [View Full Entry]

I arrived to find Santa had visited from the UK…I even got some PRIMARK PANTS! Love ya mum! Lol! After present time we all went over to a Les's friends who was hosting a BBQ. We had a great laugh, had a huge Wii Bowling Competition…which the girls went on to win! Whoo! All thank to Missy who was a pro. Cousin mark
Christmas morning
3/8

The whole group of us...sisters, cousins, uncle, friends went to see the popular O'Laughlin at the beautiful Opera House. Its such a stunning sight at night. The comedy show was great and I laughed out loud (not as loud at the geek in the back row mind! There's always one!) - yeah that was Mark hahaha Seeing as it was still early, us girls decided to carry on to a bar and leave the boys to find their own way home. We ended up at the Rocks at a pub with a live band. We grabbed a few bottles of wine [View Full Entry]

Three Sisters and The Blue Mountains Missy and Amanda arrived! Whooop! Whooop! After a night at the Tavern (local pub) catching up with Uncle les and the boys, I realised how "English" they sound. Already I am ending my sentances with "eh?" and saying "how ya going" with a twang! One thing I can't seem to shake off is the classic English "Hiya"..."Giday" just won't skick ha! I organised a road trip up to the Blue Mountains when Missy and Amanda arrived in Sydney, so we could explore the beautiful mountains and have a proper girlie catchup. It was great we [View Full Entry]

I've just returned from the lovely Hunter Valley, which is the famous wine region. It was the most stunning place, fields and fields of vines, wild kangaroos, and beautiful lakes. Mark organised the trip as a surprise which was great, we stayed in the prettiest chalet overlooking the water and were able to walk to our favorite vineyard Tempus Two. Ummmmm...we strolled over and after tasting 10 different wines, sticky, port I was giggling all the way to the ice-cream shop! lol! They actually had a shop there called "The smelly cheese shop" guess what...it did! pwwwwwwwwwww! The following day [View Full Entry]

Surfer's paradise Skem's first night in Australia was on the East Coast at Surfer's Paradise. 5 of us girls headed straight out for a VERY drunken night...as seen by the photographic eveidence. We started off at The Avenue, with a live band, bottle of vino and danced non stop. We ended up in Melbas, and continued into the silly hours. We recovered the following day on the golden beach. After our adventures up north, we passed back through Surfer's, Skem and Sharlene rented an apartment for a week while us girls looked for more permanent accomodation and jobs. We found a [View Full Entry]
