Viva Las Vegas - here we come! Caught a plan at 11am from San Diego to Las Vegas. Arrived at 12pm and waited an hour and a half for our luggage to finally come of the luggage carousal. Jumped on our transfer to our Hotel- Circus Circus. This was not like any other hotel it was massive. Like a big Crown casino. At our hotel is a massive casino, amusement park, restaurants, night clubs, theater shows and finally accommodation. We walked in to the casino- it was so busy. Very crazy. We checked in out our gear down and head down the strip. Started off at a half price show tickets van and got some tickets to the 'Beach Boys'. Love the Beach Boys so I was excited. We headed down the strip and as it ... read more

Today we went to the "World Famous San Diego Zoo". We started on a tour of the Zoo which took us around to each area. It was a big place with lots of types of animals and beautiful gardens. It is actually listed as botanical gardens. So we walked around and saw lots of animals. There were apparently 4000 animals there from 800 species. You would see a big but there would by 10 varieties and the same for monkeys, dears etc. We actually saw a dear just after it was born. (An hour old). It was tiny and struggling to walk around- very cool. My favs were the hippo, rhinos, zebras, grizzly bear, feral bush pigs and pandas. Well there was a huge line to see the pandas and we couldn’t be bothered waiting at ... read more

Wow! Interesting day. Today was the day of the Holiday Bowl- big Gridiron match for the holidays. Kinda like our old State of Origin. Benn tried for a few days and we finally got some tickets to go! The game started at 5pm. It was a huge event- everyone was talking about it. So the day started with a Balloon Parade in Downtown San Diego. So we headed down at 10am and sat and watched the parade. It was awesome. Just what u see on TV or the movies. Like hot air balloons expect shaped as different things and characters which are carried down a main strip with marching bands inbetween them. So this was very exciting start to the day. Next we ventured down to Tijuana (which is actually Mexico- just cross the American Boarder). ... read more

Today was our day out at San Diego Sea World. This day was also the coldest and windiest day we have come across. We were not prepared for it as it was a sunny day yesterday so we thought the same and wore thongs and a light weight jumper- big mistake. Anyway so the day consisted of visiting the marine life of sea worlds some animals we had seen before in Gold Coast's Sea World and some we have not. We went to a killer whale show- there for 4 killer whales but they have the show focused on one - Shamu. Apparently he attacked on of the trainers last week or sum thing- but all was good today. I thought he was gonna be bigger but anyway he was still big. So we went to ... read more

Left Anaheim at 9am this morning and got on the transfer bus to San Diego, got here bout 10.30am. Checked in our luggage and went out to explore San Diego. In the following days we will visit San Diego Zoo, San Diego Sea World and go down to Tijuana Mexico. So today was a cruisy day looking around San Diego. We walked down to the local shopping centre (Westfield I think- yay). It was like southland but all outside- I liked it. So all the 'After Xmas Sales' (aka Boxing Day sales) were on. But and yes can u believe we didn’t buy anything!!! Benn got over the shopping quickly ( I could of went all day), so we jumped on the 'trolley' (aka train) and headed Downtown San Diego. Here we walked around, found another ... read more

For your xmas and our xmas eve (24th Dec) we went to Disneyland - California Adventure Park. This is just across the road from Disneyland and is what we basically think a continuation of Disneyland (which didn’t fit on the original land) across the road which they can also charge for. So at this Disneyland we went on all the rides. Our favorites were the rocket or something which was like the giant drop but opposite- you shoot up into the air. We did the standard roller coaster etc. The best was the Haunted Hollywood Hotel where you went into this haunted mansion and got in the lift which was pitch black. It took you to the top level and then just let it drop back down- literally felt like free falling. If we were not ... read more

Got up at 9 am today. We had a big catch up sleep and now feel heaps better. Wow! Another long long day. Disneyland just never ends. Well basically there are two parks. Disneyland and Disneyland California Adventure. Today we went to Disneyland. We walked in at 10am and it was packed. Soo many people and kids and heaps of strollers. There was so much to do we didn’t know where to start. We found that the most popular rides had fast track cards where you are given a card with a specific hour to come back and you will go to the front of the line. However only one fast track card would be given out each hour, so we couldn’t just collector them all and go back. Otherwise the wait was as long as ... read more

Day started early again. Only had about 4 ½ hours sleep last night. Left our Hollywood hotel and caught the 7.20 train to Downtown LA and then connected with a bus to go to Anaheim. Arrived at Anaheim at 10am and checked into our Hotel. We traveled this whole trip on a $3 all day metro ticket. A cab was going to cost $100! (Disneyland is just across the road from our hotel). So we decided to get Knott’s Berry Farm done. We were extremely tired today and were not really in the mood but we had to tick it off our list. Knott’s Berry is a theme park with very extreme rides. If you think the best rides at each of the QLD theme parks (ie. giant drop, lethal weapon, superman, tower of terror etc) ... read more

Another long long day, going to bed late and getting up early is starting to take a toll on us. Today we went to Universal Studios (bit like Movie World). We paid an extra $20 to get front of the line passes, which literally took you to the front of the line for each ride or show, it was great, no lining up! The pass also included behind the scenes after each show, where they explain how things were done and you can meet the actors and have a photo- which I enjoyed. We did the usual stuff, a studio tour. The tour visited the set of Desperate Housewives "Wisteria Lane', the Psycho 'Bates Hotel', the Back to the Future town hall and numerous other film and TV locations. There were a few shows, Animals in ... read more

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (even tho its the 21st for us 2mrw!) Today was a bit of a catch up day on things we didn’t see enough of. So prob a bit boring for you to read. Still started early tho, caught a bus out to Santa Monica, which sounds easy but was a long process. Today was the first day of us using the bus system. So after waiting 20 mins for the bus we were on our way. We actually had to get off half way and then catch another bus- tricky I know- but Benn had it all worked out- he looked it up on the net the night before. So I left it up to him. So anyway we finally arrived at Santa Monica after and hour of waiting at bus stops ... read more
