Benn wanted a sleep in today but I knew we had a lot to do. (did somebody say shoppppppppppppping!). So I got up what felt like early 9am and opened the blinds and it was SNOWWWWWWWWWWWING. I told Benn it was snowing and to get up and he thought I was lying as he was keen to keep sleeping. So after convincing him he opened his eyes and saw it. Tiny little soft flakes were falling from the sky. It looked like someone above our hotel room was throwing it out of their window or something. You could see it gathering on the roof of a hotel near us. Soooooooo cool. So that got us up and ready pretty quickly so we headed downstairs to see some more. It was so soft and light. Well the 10 minutes ran out quickly I couldn't even upload the photos so here is take two. We checked out of our fancy hotel and put our luggage in storage. Caught the shuttle to the center of town to ctach the hopon/hopoff bus again. Had a look at independence hall as I think its pretty famous so better go there. It was the first parliament or something. Then we walked upto the biggest US mint which makes all the coins. This was a cool tour learning how the coins are made and stuff. I remember doing this back at primary school. Then we jumped on the bus to the market everyone talks about. Its all local produces and people cooking food- no big food chains. So we had a look around and had another philly ... read more

Up early again to catch a $12 bus to Philadelphia. So we caught the sub into Chinatown and boarded our 3 hour bus trip to Philly. We arrived an walked down to our hotel. We booked this the night before on this new site we have found. It was $80. We got there and werent sure if we were in the right place as it was a very fancy place. Chandeleers in the foyer and marble everywhere. A guy took our bags up and was trying to oragnise everything. He took us into our room and just stood there. So Benns gets our his wallet for a $1! He probably usually gets $20's! So this place was heaps nice and our bed was massive and even had a remote! The guy said he would get a ... read more

Very warm today like 15 degrees. Didn't even really need a jacket til late afternoon. Today we decided to again do the touristy thing with the hopon/hopoff bus. So we caught the metro to Central station to get the tickets and start the tour. There were double decker options but the woman said it would leak if it rained and it was drizzling. So went went for the trolley option which is like a tram on wheels. So she took us to Capitol Building first which we think is like the parliment where are the government meetings are. Its a really old building and we got a free tour of it. Everything is free over here- going up the Washington Memorial yesterday and now this. So the guides like you gotta get there early as the ... read more

Up early to catch out 11.30 flight. As it was international and going back into the US we got there early. Said our goodbyes to Gary and Carolyn and thanked them for looking after us for the past three days. Got into the airport at about 9am and printed off our boarding passes which we checked in last night and then joined the line to get our tags for our bags. They dont take the bags there so we had to join another line to go to customs. What felt like hours later we were inside! Joined another line to get our passports stamped and the usual questions and then dropped off our bags. Then joined another massive line for the metal detector which did go for hours. It was 11.20 and we are like hmmmmmm ... read more

Up early enough so we could get through a busy day. We started off at the Dixie factory outlets which wasnt that exciting really compared to our DFO. All the stores had like one of everything on racks and the stuff was many seasons ago. So we didnt hang around. Gary dropped myself, Benn and Carolyn off at the subway to catch a train into Toronto city. We had driven around town several times but had actually walked around. So we got out and a big shopping mall and then headed out into the blistery cold. It was the coldest day so far in Toronto. We walked round looking at the shops (it was much more expensive here than in the US) and then we walked into the times square of Toronto with all the lights ... read more

Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep in! First one for the holiday. Woke up at about 11ish and then eventually headed out just after 12. We headed into Toronto city as Benn was going to meet with the Milwalkee Bucks (NBA) fitness guy whom he met with Andrew Bogut working at Melbourne. So we dropped him off at a fancy hotel and he had a chat to Marc Boff about NBA training schedule and their medical teams etc. Marc called over Bogey to say hi so he had a quick chat with him too. Meanwhile myself, Gary and Carolyn when out for lunch at their local pub. Had some nice fish and chips and then went back to get Benn. We then drove down to CN tower (apparently the world's highest tower- every tower we go up claims to be the ... read more

Ok early start at 6am. Headed to subway for our $1.70 ride to the airport. Got to the 'Logan Airport' and checked in with no queues. Headed into the small terminal and waited to board. All of a sudden we hear- 'Flight 357 looking for passenger Logan'. Whoopies we were at the wrong gate and were not listening. So we boarded our small plane and were like the 19th and 20th passenger. We had the whole back end of the plane to oursleves. The flight was baout 2 hours and we were off and in customs in a flash. The luggage carousel was empty with our two bags going round. Mum's friend Gary with his wife Carolyn were there to pick us up. We got into Gary's Yuekon (massive car) and headed back to his place. ... read more

Had a nice breakfast at the hotel- this one even had hot chocolate! Very impressive. So we walked the short distance from our hotel to the sub and caught a train to the city center to pick up our trolley pass which is basically a tram on wheels and is a hop on/hop off bus. So we waited for the next one and we were the only ones! So the driver put on his headset and started talking about the area. Headed down to the wharf and went to the Boston Aquarium. We arrived at the same time as about 5 school buses of like 5 year olds so that was fun. Pretty cool place, nice and small. Lots of penguins and a huge water tank in the middle with a path spiraling up it. Saw ... read more

Got up and checked out and walked upto bus stop 2 blocks up. Jumped on the Megabus to go to Boston. It was a 4 hour bus trip and the bus even had wifi! So we got on the laptop and mobiles to catch up on whats going on. Even had powerpoints but Benn left the charger in the suitcase. Didn’t end up needing it anyway as we were soon asleep. I woke up and looked out the window and everything was white and it was snowing! So we arrived in Boston at 1pm. We started walking in the rain and as all the sidewalks have been cleared from the snow, all the snow builds up on the side. As we went to cross the road the step down and snow was deceiving as Benn put ... read more
