So i made it to Ecuador safe and sound. Met my host mother and brothers/sister as well as an australian girl who will be leaving friday. Not too much to comment on so far. I definitely can understand more Spanish than I could when I was in Argentina and Uruguay. I am very excited about the coming month and certainly wish it could be longer.... read more

So I made it to Uruguay. Staying at Cecilia´s family´s house which is very nice. I´ll probably be lazy with any posts this week though. I will put more pictures up soon. Bought a maté today which we have to condition with old yerba so its usable. I also need to buy a bombilla to drink it with. Hope everyone´s thanksgiving was as awesome as mine. Had a wonderful asado (argentinian bbq) at ed´s which was delicious and fun. lots of wine and amazing stead instead of turkey and stuffing. Definitely a thanksgiving I won´t forget.... read more

So sorry its been a while, I've been lazy. After we left El Chalten we went on a bus ride for 32 hours which was kind of horrible but went by in a weird blur. Then we made it to Bariloche which was a great city with a beautiful landscape of mountains, lakes, and wildflowers everywhere. Also, the region bariloche is in is the only place where they grow hops in argentina apparently so they also had a good bit of great locally brewed beer. We went on a great hike up to a place near the top of the mountains where there was a little house with a kitchen that we could cook in, while we camped outside. It was right by a lake which somehow still had ice on it even though in the ... read more

We arrived in El Chalten yesterday to find some serious wind. It has been crazy windy here but we have hiked anyway and its been great. Unfortunately its been too cloudy to see cerro Fitz Roy or Cerro Torre but its beautiful around here anyway. Yesterday we hiked to and above a pretty big waterfall which was beautiful and made it back to cook some good soup and then get some local beer from a brewpub that was pretty good. So today we left for a hike up towards Fitz Roy and it started snowing. We hiked for about 2 hours and then it really started coming down and the wind was blowing like crazy. Its not cold enough for it to stick long but it was coming down fast enough for a while there that ... read more

So yesterday was a full day of travelling. We got up at 4:30 and left at 5, with one of the most beautiful sunrises I have ever seen. I honestly never actually saw it get fully dark in Ushuaia. Even at about 11 there was still some twilight left from the sun and it was always coming up before 5, but I was only up that early once. So the day of travel was rather interesting. For most of it the terrain was changing and we saw tons of animals. Hundreds of sheep, chilean flamingos, llamas, ostriches, on the magellan straight we saw one penguin and a bunch of porpoises/dolphins? that were black and white which was cool. We had to cross in and out of Chile to make the trip, because the bottom of argentina ... read more

Hola! I just got back from the national park, which was amazing. I didn´t know what to expect as i hadn´t read too much information or seen many pictures but it was amazing. I wish I could put up pictures but I seem to have forgotten my cord to hook my camera up to the computer. sorry. Yesterday we hiked a very easy but very beautiful trail along Bahia Lapataia and then camped overnight. The place where we camped was cool. It looked like they mowed the grass there because there were so many rabbits. The amount of wildlife we saw was amazing. Tons of different types of birds including parakeets, flightless ducks that paddle with their wings when you scare them, huge bright red headed woodpeckers, and today an enormous condor, lots more too. Also, ... read more

Made it fine to Ushuaia. Very very windy and chilly but very beautiful. On a crazy sleep schedule that may or may not even out in the next few days. This will certainly be more hectic than my time in India as its pressed for time. We made a basic plan today that we´ll try to go be but we´ll see. Tomorrow we go to Parque Nacional Tierra Del Fuego to go hiking and camping for a night and then out of Tierra Del Fuego. Sometime I´ll get some time to write in a little more detail but haven´t had too much time yet. Tonight we try to go get some fresh king crab or centolla if it isn´t too expensive. chau... read more

So I made it to Pushkar. Its very nice and relaxing here and the lake is beautiful. I am now traveling with a girl from Uruguay named Cecilia. We went on a camel safari yesterday which was supposed to be all day and overnight, spending the night in the desert. But it turns out we weren't allowed to do that so we only went for about 6 hours during the middle of the day. It was still very nice, riding a camel was fun and the scenery was beautiful. However, when we got back I didn't want to pay the guy the full price for what we agreed on being a 24 hour trip for a 6 hour trip, and he let me pay less but he got really upset and started saying he was losing ... read more
