ooh that ulrich we stayed at his place as well and he sent us all around the countryside of b.tinggi. He took us on the tourist train to the mining village and sent us to the civet farm. Did you ever get in his jeep? His driving habits have are purely sumateran which is startling but gets you around quickly. Glad to hear people are frequenting sumatera as we didn't see many foreigners while there.
Cheers and happy travels.

I read it all! ;-) Hi Scott,
I read it all and I'm not manic or related to you as far as I know! I'm sorry to hear about your financial woes and I hope it gets sorted out asap. By the way, I'm curious to know what happens when someone dies and the body is kept in the house before the funeral. How do they avoid it rotting / being eaten by flies etc? Do they just put up with the smell? I've experienced the smell of a dead body on a hot day when I worked in a hospital, it is quite beyond belief. Call me morbid but I can't help wondering!
Take care,
Blane x
Thanks Jason, Sophie, Dale and Ed! Appreciated. It is a memorable spot, as Sophie and dale and Jason will testify. Ed, don't just take our words for it, get yourself there ASAP!
anonymous sorry that previous comment was me - logged off when I sent it. Anyway, like I said, love it; I was there in 1998 and hope to return this year.
beautifully written, as always This blog has put the Togeans high on my to do list, particularly as I am hoping to return to Indonesia next year. Those Bajao seem to get around - I met some of them in the Cuyo Islands in the Philippines!
Hotels I come here accidentally and see your information, thanks for your sharing. Your statements are all very reasonable, also let me learn a lot, thank you!
what a photo's! first off, great pictures! seems we are all in love with the tarsier!
This might sounds weird but Anka and I are missing South east Asia now that we are in L.A.
people didn't even asked us where we came from or if we are married, the officer behind the desk was not smoking and looked agressive.
It seems like I have to steal someone's blackberry to get in contact here.
we'll keep in touch!
enjoy Sulawesi!
Part 1 Transport I am a first time visitor to this travel blog (India travel). Having spend a few weeks in india a couple of years ago this is the most hilarious piece of writing I have ever read. Very funny person, well done, good on you. Is the writer ever performing live in Australia. What a hoot it would be. Thanks!
Thanks for all the comments! I deliberately titled this blog the way I did as an experiment in garnering more hits. Unfortunately it seems to prove the theory I suspected;sex sells, not well written and informative writing!
Prehistoric stuff Hey, Thanks for all the great stuff. Bundi reminds me of a recent news I read somewhere perhaps in Bangalore times that they have found some prehistoric caves near this place? Any news on what is painted on the wall? Does is show signs of any supernatural beings or any entoptic phenomenon? There is a book called Supernatural written by Graham Hancock that details such sites.

Blogs with rude titles Hi
Great blog. Looking forward to visiting El Nido sometime. We have a theory on travelblog that blogs with vaguely rude titles are the most popular. Keep an eye on this one to see how high on your viewers list it goes!
