Lazyness Ok, so i've completely abandoned the travel blog thing but heres a quick snippet of what i got up to!! Arrival in Perth Love it love it love it! Its more of a big town than a city but theres something so cool about the fact that its one of the most isolated cities in the world - the nearest city is Adelaide which is over 2000km away!! Accom I stayed at the Witches Hat in Northbridge which is often referred to a "flashpackers" by those staying in slightly cheaper but considerably dodgier accom closer to the CBD (Central business district). Gotta love Ryanair... The whole family takes me to the airport, I'm all psyched up to go and then "Flight to Stansted will now be delayed until 8.15 pm". 3hours into our 4 hour delay we're offered a 5euro voucher for food...which happens to be 5minutes before we're called to departures so the Q is too long to avail of it. Of course me being stubburn as hell Q's anyway to get a muffin, taytos, snack and coco pops that I don't even want - but its free!!! Arrive in London late... everyone has already hit the town but friends of a friend leave a key out and I gladly help myself to their couch. I feel v backpacker-esque already! Chungking
Day 1 First impressions - everything is so organized and easy to understand! Figuring out which bus to get was really easy cos everythings in English. Was a little worried about the hostel i was staying in... especially when i found an entry in the guidebook just before i got off the plane saying "ChungKing Mansions is a scary place"... well, it wasn't THAT bad!!! As soon as i got off the bus i was surrounded by indians trying to take me to a different hostel in order to get commission - not sure if it was the ginormous rucksack of the pasty irish skin that gave me away :P Once i managed to find the right elevator (each one only goes to every second floor!), i made my way to reception where a dopey African ... read more
