I was a bit worried that you decided not to follow through with blogging as you left for London three months ago and hadn't blogged about your time there. However, I had hope that what you were really waiting for was the start of your journey from London to Istanbul through Africa, which should start shortly. I'm looking forward to your blogs as I've thought seriously about doing an overland trip; perhaps not as long...maybe just Cape Town to Tanzania. The other overland trip I'm considering is the Silk Road. But if you read my profile you will see that I have the next four years already mapped out, but I can always change my priorities!
Welcome to travelblog, Sarah. You will find many like-minded people here. And if you ever have any questions, you will get answers right away from those who have gone through the same experiences that you are facing. Make sure you search for the blogs for the countries that you will be visiting and use the Forum.
Anyway, congratulations on taking the leap and committing to blogging your experience. Interestingly, my own journey also started at [blog=611665]. I spent the last year digitizing over 5000 pictures and writing the blogs for every trip I've taken since before my birth in 1949.
So I encourage you to write about your past trips, and I look forward to reading about your current trip. I will start by clicking on the Recommend tab to recommend you to other readers, and your blogs will automatically show up on my page when you publish them.
Thanks, Bob! Now I feel I'll have to keep this up for even more reasons than I currently have! I've a lot of trips that I hope to eventually add on here but they're on the back burner for at least a year while I'm in Africa. I'm hoping I'll be able to offer you something interesting to read!
Having grown up in Australia, I had no idea that when I left in December, 1998, I wouldn't go back. After working and travelling in the northern hemisphere for over 13 years, I then quit everything to travel through Africa in 2012. Since then I have also travelled the Silk Route and in 2015 moved to Bangkok, Thailand.
The more I travel, the longer the lists of places to go grows, not shrinks.
Thanks to all those who read and wrote. it's the first time I've attempted blogging and feedback was definitely the motivation to keep me going!
