Long day of travelling starting at 5.00am, and arriving at Hoi An at 8.00pm (11.00pm Australian time). First time ever I walked into the airport and went straight through the check in, no queue and no waiting. Great way to start the trip. I arrived at Ho Chi Minh airport and it was really strange, firstly being somewhere completely new and secondly being on my own. I did a Robyn though, for those of you who don't know Robyn she is quite happy talking to strangers anywhere - supermarket queues, restaurants where ever, and so I made a few friends in the queues for customs and for booking the next flight. Well things change and that's the best thing about travelling - going with the flow!!! Instead of leaving on Friday with Robyn and Peter, I changed my flight to Wednesday morning, so that now means only two more sleeps and I will be on my way to Vietnam and going to have a foodies tour via my travel buddies when I arrive!! I have started packing now, but cant work out what to take, as per usual I will probably take too much, but what is a girl to do, what colour to choose. Oh well take them all!! Day Four Today we were booked for our elephant trek in Khao Lak, so an early start had meant that everyone had had a quiet night. We were picked up at about 8.00am and headed off in our mini bus. Oh by the way have I mentioned the weather, so much for sunny Thailand! We have had rain, rain and more rain. But it is hot and steamy as well, and not cold so that is good. It seems to rain for a bit then clear up and then another downpour! Our first stop was bamboo rafting, and the rain stopped for us, two people to a raft and down the river we went for 5 kms. Well we made it and it has taken me two days to get over it!! Day One Everything went to plan, except Tracy and I didn't sleep at all Saturday night and by the time we got to the airport I felt I was drunk I was so tired! Good way to start the holiday, everyone was so excited and some of us were even a bit nervous. We went to McDonalds and Erin's parents had to put up with us all buzzing and being noisy as we tried to get ourselves sorted out!! After a great dinner at Nick & Ash's house, Team Thailand went through their final checklist and made sure they are all organised for the big trip in 10 days time!! We are all so excited and looking forward to a warm holiday with lots of rest, relaxing and if you ask Hayden and Nick "Partying". We have all got our team names and have wonderful singlets designed by Brooke who is our "Loser" friend who doesn't get to come but we all thank her very much for her great designs.
