Marin Trail

Tucked away in amongst the Snowdon mountain range lies a purpose built mountainbiking trail. There isn't that much to say as I feel the pictures say it all. The ride is about 17 18 miles and does have several technical sections where care should be taken. Alot of the trails have semibedded rocks so falling here would be painful. Don't let this put you off with a good mountainbike you probab

This time it was for the 'Mountain Biking Festival Weekend'. Once base was established at the Ninham Campsite on the South East side of the island it was bed early that night for what was instore the next day.We woke to brilliant su

First trip of 2008 took me to the beautiful Stirlingshire. Armed with a new tent and mountain bike I stayed at the Witches Craig Campsite and it's probably so far the best I've stayed at. Good flat pitching areas and the grass is cut short and washroom facilities first class with nice powerful hot showers. Small village of local shops and a Sainsbury's is nearby to replenish your food stocks. My s

Went to Aberystwyth for a long weekend with Paola and Lisa.Getting there isn't the easiest of journeys roads in wales tend to be a little on the slow and twisty side.Friday was our first full day and we were blessed with a cloudless sky and brilliant sunshine temperatures reaching around 75 degrees which is good for September We all decided to head for the beach and take advantage of the sun

If you are put off going to Las Vegas because you think it's all about gambling...think again it has become the entertainment capital of the world and it really is. I spent 3 days there and never went to the tables or a machine. The rest is coming soon......some pics for now

Vomit Hill

Tuesday evenings are assigned for mountain biking. The Chester Outdoors Club have organised rides most weeks and this Tuesday was the challenge of Vomit Hill i.e it's so steep you feel like being sick once you reach the top. This was my very first ride a few years ago and I have to admit it just about killed me these days it's a little more manageable. It was made extra special as it was John's

Travelled down to Bournemouth Hospital where Tanya was now posted. Stayed with her in her staff accomodation very basic but comfortable. First night we just ate and slept as we were both knackered. Second night we decided to go and see a pantomine as it was the festive season Cinderella if I remember correctly. There was the usual not so funny jokes but the kids loved it but Tanya and I did m

Travelled by car from Chester as usual Tanya doing the navigating not that she had to do much on the M6 but she made up for it when we reached the outskirts of London. Our destination was the Crystal Palace campsite a very pleasant site not what we were expecting in the centre of London with the all important 'nice toilets' and showers. Arrived in the dead of night flashing headlights over

Had a great time stayed at a camp site just outside Edinburgh called Peebles. Who said it always rains in Scotland First day was a bit dodgy but after that we enjoyed superb weather. Biking at the Seven Staines I recommend to anyone well worth a trip. As we all know very well with mountainbiking you have to endure some pain to get the pleasure. Yes there are some tough hill climbs but t

She knew nothing about it her boyfriend Dave made out he was taking her on a caving weekend hope she wasn't disappointed Unknown to her about 30 of her closest friends had a barbeque planned at her house. We were all to meet at one end of her street with fooddrink in hand. I had delivered my barbeque the night before whilst Libby was at

Living the Dream

This was probably the most special day with my father Roy. It had been his life long dream to own a luxury motor boat. After alot of searching and visiting boat shows around the world he chose an Italian boat a 56ft Azimut. Our journey started firstly in Southampton where my father and I went on an intense 7 day course to learn how to skipper a boat like this and obtain a licence to some deg
