| 7th October 2009 Jeff | Currency and car rental - From: Sevastopol and the Black Sea Fleet Hi, thanks for your blog. Have you any advice, comments or concerns about currency. I mean exchanges, how much US cash to take to exchange. What about Visa and debit cards, MasterCard and Travelers’ checks. I also plan to rent a car in Odessa to travel to Poltava. I am leaving New York next week. I would appreciate any help. Thanks again. Jeff J. California |

| 15th July 2009 Jacqui | roundabout - From: Samaxi's SU-15 and other monuments Hi, glad the weather's getting better for you. Just a thought ..... your roundabut is the colours of the national flag and if you look at the map of Azerbaijan (with a bit of a squint and no glasses) and with a bit of imagination as well, I think the shape of the country looks a little like a head, albeit with rather a large nose pointing to the right and hair to the left (or should it be east and west?). Love to you both, Jacqui and Dave |

And the new Borders in Cardiff sounds very exciting - I look forward to paying it a visit. It all seems very far away from Bogota though, where we find ourselves at the moment. Also, I would love to buy your house but fear that you want more than 10 quid for it. I will pass on the details to friends in that area though and let you know if I hear anything back! Take care and "pob lwc" for Syria, Ruth |
