How I'd like to be remembered: Eating a cookie in a cow pasture.
Hola bambinos! This entry is pretty scattered. Itīs hard keeping up with these things when youīre at hostels and canīt write much at a time. Bummer, huh? The other morning I decided to make a list of things I miss. I was on the bus and couldnīt think of anything better to do. Now I'm going to share it with you: Mt. Dew. Not the drink but the concept. Flaming hot cheetos: The taste AND the concept. Actually, I miss ANY food with some spice. My electric toothbrush! My mouth is filthy! My iPod. Mainly because I left the headphones in [View Full Entry]

Hey Kids, Keep the comments coming! Everyone likes a pat on the back once in a while, especially me. Now, let's talk about how I really feel about travel. Okay, for many people, this a dream come true. The chance to hang out in a foreign country or two, or three. Yes! It's amazing. But for me just traveling is also work. Yes, It's work. It's challenging. You have to figure out where you're going next. You might have to take an hour out of your day to go buy a bus ticket. Or try to find an open grocery store [View Full Entry]

Baby B! This is for you.
Hey Kids, As you may remember, I wasnīt feeling so well in Colonia. However, Monday morning rolled around and I decided to get on a bus to Montevideo. Easy enough. No problems on the bus. Stayed at the Red Hostel which was pretty nice despite various projects going on. At least theyīre taking care of the place. Still feeling pretty stuffy and achy on Tuesday morning but decided to take someone up on their couch surfing offer. Couchsurfing.com, if you havenīt heard of it, is a website that you can use to find a couch/floor space/fellow travelers/etc. Itīs a great way [View Full Entry]

I finally found a place with a slightly faster upload speed so there are bunch of photos, probably too many, included in this and the next entry. I hope to upload another video at some point. But now Iīm tired! Hey Kids, Well, Iīve been battling a cold for over a week now. So I got the hell of out Buenos Aires. Itīs a great city but I needed to move on. I spent a horrible night in a hostel and then walked to the ferry to Uruguay the next morning. Actually getting to the ferry was intense. I stood [View Full Entry]

Hey kids, Have you ever been to a Buenos Aires McDonalds? Well, I have. I had some dinner plans fall through the other night so I made an unplanned stop there. Didnīt think I would ever need to go but most quick places around here close by 9. I was glad I went because I discovered they have McInternet. Iīm not quite sure what that is. I ate something that was called a McNifica. It was McDelicious. After that I went to a birthday party at UniClub. It took me back, way back. Before Billy Idol crashed his motorcycle. Before Madonna [View Full Entry]

Hola Amigos, Itīs been great to hear from everyone. Iīll try to keep the pictures coming but uploading takes a LONG, long time. So this is what you get today. Explored San Telmo a couple days ago. It was pretty nice - somehow it felt like home to me. Lots of creaky old buildings and artsy things for sale. The DIY kids are in full force down there. San Telmo is known for tango shows and there are lots of hostels down there. Itīs very tourist friendly and yes, again someone asked me for directions. Happened to get sucked in by [View Full Entry]

Que Tal? Hi Kids! Iīm here in Buenos Aires. I havenīt done much except lots of walking and meeting people. This city is very interesting… I could probably say a lot but Iīll just stick to the key points. These are: what are people wearing, doing, graffiti-ing, and eating. Oh, flights were good - unremarkable. Saw Ironman on the plane and finally realized how hot Robert Downey Jr. is. Maybe I finally got past that scene in Less Than Zero… Eating: So far Iīve had a couple opportunities to eat Parrilla, the traditional Argentine bbq. Itīs pretty good. My host, Dieg [View Full Entry]

The 20th Annual Bigfoot Expo, Much Ado About Dayton, and other stories from Ohio I flew into Dayton International Airport on a rainy Thursday night. The flight went quickly as I had a deep conversation with someone truly on my level. We talked about her stuffed animals, she kindly introduced me to an otter named Rico and I briefly met Cali, the bear, but he spent most of his time in the luggage bin. It’s not often you can really talk to someone on an airplane, so when you find yourself next to a 10 year old girl holding a stuffed [View Full Entry]

This is the last in my travel entries about SD. It's time. I wouldn't even do this and I'm sure you're tired of reading, if you still are. And I want to write about something new... but there is something important that happened, astrologicallly speaking, so I'm sputtering out this last piece. So, it's the 8th of June (a Thursday) and I wake up on the most comfortable couch in the world, feeling refreshed and hungry. Unlike the shower at the last campground, the water at C's house stays hot for more than a minute. No Navy showers today! After I'm [View Full Entry]

You might be wondering why I have two entries for 6/6/6. Well, I felt like the previous one was long enough - especially with all the pictures. So here is how the 6th ended and what we did on the 7th. We pulled into Kadoka looking for a place to pitch the tent before the sun went down. There is nothing I hate more than struggling to set up a tent in the dark. So I was happy to find the Ponderosa Lodge Motel and Campground. After resurrecting the faithful Eureka tent, we wondered what to do next. We wander around [View Full Entry]
