Thanks! Hi Robin, very enjoyable trip report! Il Matto, Pecorino, three hopefully not blind men - very rich and fun! I hope you don't mind but I tweeted a link here.

Thanks again.... As with all the other entries you've made, I really enjoyed this one as well!! Let's see what I can strong arm you into buying on our next adventure!! Glad you're enjoying that lovely green bag! : )
more great memories! You forgot to mention what a great lunch we had at your apt., the left over olive bread, cheese, fruit ... and what else? Oh yeah, BEER! : ) Loved your answer about the guy asking if your husband was coming back! HA! And, just as an fyi, the guests at our hotel were given a key to the front door so you didn't have to ring the doorbell to be let in...only when you first arrive.
Thanks for sharing more memories Byrd. I am truly enjoying your blog!
Venice I can feel the air, smell the air, it was the next thing to Heaven to me!! the trip, companions , the whole thing!!loved every minute. got to meet some wonderful people too . Did you notify them of this too ? love
memor(y) that's exactly why I wanted you to read this and exactly why I needed to write out a journal. just think what I'll have forgotten in another week from now!
LOL Just glanced through this page as I'm running out of time (will read in more detail later)...but I noticed the "Three hopefully not blind men" and it made me laugh out loud! Just thought I'd share that!! LOL Later gator!
Hiking to Norcia Great recollection and very well written. You might want to mention that Don and I only found one of your markers...the MOST important one saying you would have cold beer waiting for us when we arrived! : ) Also, I think you should include that I thought it would be a good idea for you to go back and talk to "that cute little monk!" as he was working in a store for the Catholic church...and he was from Indiana, not Chicago. His name was Homer! How could you forget a "young" man named Homer silly! LOL
Venice Mom, you should be able to almost picture it since you yourself were just there in Venice. Can you still feel the air as we walked alongside the canals?
I have dabbled in painting watercolors and was kicking myself for not having my paints with me. The place is absolutely gorgeous and so peaceful. I did do a drawing but my paints, good pencil and good paper were sorely missed.
Abbazia San Petro in Valle What an amazing place. I was lucky enough to stay there in 2001 for 10 days for an art class. It's beauty looks unchanged!!! What a life altering trip.
Osteria del Matto/ La Rocca Obviously you've been to the Osteria del Matto in Spoleto. Did you too enjoy a meal there and how was your time spent with the owner? Thanks for the information about the frescos only just being restored at La Rocca. That makes a lot of sense.
La Rocca I am glad you enjoyed Spoleto and discovered the Osteria del Matto. The frescoes in La Rocca were actually whitewashed over when it was a prison and have only recently been restored.
I came into the travel scene a bit late in life. I took my first overseas trip in 2005 and discovered a passion for travelling and visiting new countries. Since that time I have taken numerous overseas trips. When people see me now the first thing they ask me is, where's your next trip? I've found that once you visit a country it only inspires a desire to see more.... full info
