Hey Girl, Another Birthday has come and gone. Bet you never thought you would spend it in Turkey. We missed celebrating but we'll do it when you get home. Just one more month. Looks like you have really made the best use of your trip and seen alot. I didn't send a gift but you'll get it when you get home. Love you and miss you.

Those pics are GORGEOUS; I just love old religious buildings. Someday I want to go to New Orleans and check out all the old cathedrals. Want to go with me? P.S. I miss you bunches. Tell everybody hi for me?

Wouldn't it be great to have buildings like this around here. If they ever get it passed we will be getting the new "Country Crossings Complex". It will be in Houston County on 231 South and be a big Country Music theatre's and restaurants like they have in Branson, Missouri. Maybe it will go thru. Ronnie Gilley is building it and he has already bought 766 acres of land. It will be great to have all the tourism and attractions so close to home. Love You, Zan

Beaches - From: sile beach day
I love those huge outcroppings out in the water! Very Grecian. I'm sorry it wasn't warm enough for you to sunbathe and get a tan. If it makes you feel better, I went to Panama City and it was foggy and freezing. We passed your condo on the strip and it was very sad that you weren't in it. :(

missing you - From: SNOW DAY
Had a great time in Gatlinburg, wish you could of been there, however, looks like you have plenty of snow for yourself. You don't have to much longer. Make the best of it and enjoy. It will be a memory that will last a life time. Looks like a beautiful place but I like the front porch view from your apartment much better than the back porch view. The walk to school looks a little scary. Be safe and have fun, we love and miss you.

Snowday - From: SNOW DAY
It looks beautiful there! I'm sorry you got creamed by an angry foreigner, but I'm glad you're having good times. We sure miss you guys here - Beaux Arts Ball is tonight, and then David's black and white party, and it's going to be weird not having you there. :( Hope you get more snowdays!

Wish I was there in the snow. It looks so pretty, white and of course very cold. You should go snow skiing. Ha, Ha

Neato! - From: snow at school oh boy
I just read all of your travel posts - it looks like you're having a pretty good time! I agree with Sam that Turkey is way prettier than I thought it was. You should post some Turkish vocabulary, so we can all benefit from your experiences. :) Also, you should just go ahead and come back now. We miss you too much. Turkey is selfish for keeping all the Haley to itself.

So, have you adopted some turkish cultural habits so far? Some particular words? eating habits maybe? I'd like to hear your impressions on melting into the country's daily life and all? If that makes sense... Anyway, seems like you are living a great adventure! Keep it up :)

What did you feel about the mosques? Did you find the atmosphere different than in Christian churches?

Looks wonderful. Wish I could come over. Sure miss you. Your going to miss your Mom's 50th birthday, probably better you do, it won't be a fun occasion! The views are fantastic but the animals don't look Turkish, they still look American. Ha Ha. Love You, Zan

Great photos. That obelisk is actually Byzantine in origin, was probably built by Constantine VII and was once covered in bronze plates which were looted in the fourth crusade. The other was brought from Egypt by the Emperor Theodosius.

You guys are packed into that city, aren't you? The view from your place looks like an endless sea of humanity! That subway is certainly clean, though. I'm impressed

Turkey is way prettier than I imagined! That castle is really breathtaking (not to sound like a cheesy romance author). I'm so glad you're having a good time over there. Are you going to bring home a bunny? :)

Mosque-ing - From: Sightseeing - first encounter
The Blue Mosque is really pretty! I didn't expect such wide-open spaces in it; I guess I figured it would be like the cathedrals in Europe, all cramped and dark. Have you had any problems with people being rude or scary?

Neat! - From: 1st day in the apartments
I like your zebra stripes and purple entertainment center! And I'm really glad you're all locked up tight. I hope your living arrangement works out okay, and you have a bed and everything. That would be nice during a several-month stay. :) Hey, have you heard from the girl who wanted to sublease your room here in Auburn?
