Some awesome bird pictures jen took of us in San Marco. You could buy a bag of pigeon food for a euro so we indulged. Also, I plan on adding some more pictures from Venice a little later, although I didn't actually get to take any myself, because the charger to my camera is now broken. And, I have some more pictures of the fortress which Jen took to post later too. And And more water color stuff. I might make some scans of some sketches I've done in Venice too, maybe not. we'll see.... read more

Saturday I went to Rumeli Fortress with Jen and her parents. It wasn't the largest thing, but man there was much climbing. Most of the fortress included steps going up and down along the walls. The treads on the steps were huge, narrow, and with absolutely no handrails. Can we say lawsuit in the U.S? But it was still exciting, and perhaps my closest experience to a castle like structure so far. Circa 1452, neato!... read more

Some pictures from the aya sofia. Jacob and I went one afternoon, because I think we were the only two that hadn't gone with one group or another, and no one wanted to venture with us for a second look around. Good afternoon, and beautiful mosque/museum. Also, I know you guys have been leaving me comments, and I've been getting them. I'm not really sure how to respond to them though except through writing in an entry. But I just wanted to say that I love the comments, and words of love and support, keep leaving them! Also, keep checking my watercolor and studio entries because i'll post in those as I do more watercolors and add on to my studio work. AND I took these photos.... read more

March 10th 2008

6am wake up ugh, I just knew this would be the start to a beautiful day. But it was. It's been in the 50s as of late, so a sunny day at the beach turned out to be fun but pretty far from relaxing. We had plans to go to two beaches. The first beach sile and the second agva. The only problem though, was that both beaches took 1.5 hours by bus to travel to. After nearly 2 hours of catching my head as it nodded to sleep on the warm bus, we finally arrived. I have to admit that at first I wasn't impressed. I didn't see a grain of sand, which is what we were expecting. It wasn't really a rocky beach either though, just miles of paved ground. After wandering a bit ... read more

February 19th 2008

So, it snowed on Sunday which was great, but I really only left the apartment to get some schoolwork done at taskisla. On Monday, we woke up to even more snow, and some light flakes coming down. Our professor had gone to a funeral over the weekend, and it turns out that his flight was delayed too, so instead of a normal class day, we had a snow day. The whole group traveled to Sultanahmet by tramway and we played in the snow at a park in front of the aya sofia.... read more

So, I haven't posted much of late because I've mainly just been doing classes for the last two weeks. I haven't made any big trips since school has started but we did stop at the largest shopping mall in Europe. Supposedly there is an imax and a roller coaster but I didn't see the coaster. I really only went for some groceries that our local grocer doesn't really have, and to get some chinese for lunch. Man how I've missed mall chinese. Pretty much everything I've posted/visited so far has been within like 5 miles of where we live. Like the huge shopping mall probably being less than 3 miles from me and we only just found out about it and went yesterday. It's been sleeting some for the past week, but today I woke up ... read more
